Summary

Anger is part of the body's "fight, flight, or freeze" response system, which helps us defend ourselves against threats or danger.
On the other hand, unresolved anger can be detrimental to one's health.
When we identify anger as a result of something wrong with us, we tend to want to repress it rather than deal with it.
To repress and deny it, that use of anger often leads us to express it in dangerous ways to ourselves and others.
Consider how many times you've read in the news about serial killers and how others who have known them have described them. "He was always such a nice person," is a common way they are described. He never raised his voice, as far as I could tell. He never appeared to be upset with anyone."
Anger is almost always justified in the minds of angry people and the social judgment of anger has real-world consequences for the person who is angry.
Marriages have been destroyed, jobs have been lost, lives have been lost and other unfortunate incidents as a result by uncontrolled anger.
While аngеr саn undeniably bе аbusеd, it is mоrе thаn a simple destructive force.
Anger is also a critical component of what might be referred to as self-preservation and self-defense instincts.
People who are incapable of becoming enraged are also incapable of standing up for themselves. It is therefore critical that people learn how to express anger appropriately.
This book was written with the sole purpose of taking you from a place of inappropriate use of your anger to regaining control and living a more productive and happy life starting today.

In the end, Pōhutukawa, a chief's daughter, speaks to the taniwha. Through her words a spell is broken, and the taniwha transforms into a young warrior, Te Haeata, who had been cursed by a tohunga long ago. But Te Haeata never quite shakes off the spell, and in old age, he transforms into an eel and becomes a guardian in the Rangitāiki river.

Dear Big Sister friend, If you are waiting for the birth of your younger sister, or you have a younger sister and you want to know how to deal with it, this book is for you... When the mother says: The little sister is a precious gift, she means it is a gift for YOU... not a gift to give to your friend at the earliest birthday party ... My advice is: Bear your little sister from birth until she becomes a cute lady, because then, you will be forced to bear her for the rest of your life, and forever... Your little sister will wear your clothes and shoes, play with your toys, rip your magazines and books, lose your tools, pens, and books... But you will forget it all when you look at your photo together while she embraces your waist smiling in cuteness. Or, when you wake up at night, finding her sleeping right next to you, and will often hug you with one of her limbs... Do not be surprised when you wake up in one morning finding her toes in your mouth.

From the acclaimed author of Mortal Engines, “a great romp through fantasy and fable . . . that, in the end, proves the power of friendship” (School Library Journal).

Welcome to a wild world of magical creatures and heroic adventure! The squabbling goblins that live in the great towers of Clovenstone spend their time fighting and looting. Only clever young Skarper (who happens to be in exile) understands that dark magic created by a vanquished sorcerer is rising again. With the help of a wannabe-hero, a middle-aged princess, and a few bumbling wizards, Skarper must fight to save their world.

“You know you are in the hands of a master storyteller when a dangerous yet frivolous fantasy world is brought to life with such imagination that it not only entertains and amuses—it actually seems real and makes its own curious sense . . . Goblins is an utterly charming delight and children will love it.” —The Telegraph

“A delightful romp through towers, passageways, marshes, and fog, with characters that are lovable but flawed, and a sense of humor that forever lurks near the surface like the troll under the proverbial (and actual) bridge.” —Booklist

“A fast-moving and genuinely funny fantasy . . . Filled with cheeky surprises, absurd circumstances delivered in a deadpan manner, and magnetic picaresque-style storytelling, this middle-grade novel should readily appeal to fans of The Hobbit, Lloyd Alexander’s Prydain series, and Monty Python.” —Publishers Weekly

In this young adult horror novel, a girl staying on a remote island suspects the tiny Victoria-era dolls in her family’s old mansion are up to murder.

When her best friend dies under mysterious circumstances, Sophie sets off to stay with her cousins on the remote Isle of Skye. It’s been years since she last saw them—brooding Cameron with his scarred hand; Piper, who seems too perfect to be real; and peculiar little Lilias with her fear of bones. Still, Sophie never expected the strange new rules the family now lives by: Make no mention of Cameron’s accident. Never leave the front gate unlocked. Above all, don’t speak of the girl who’s no longer there, the sister whose death might have closer ties to Sophie’s past—and more sinister consequences for her future—than she ever knew.

A wondrously haunting and modern thriller, Frozen Charlotte drips with mystery and madness, secrets and survival, and the chilling sense that the impossible might be all too real.
