The narrative is infused with adventure and excitement, reflecting the era's fascination with automobiles and the emerging culture of youth and wealth. Garis employs a straightforward yet engaging prose style that appeals to both young readers and adults, intertwining themes of ambition, friendship, and the moral dilemmas faced by the affluent in pursuit of their fortunes. Howard Roger Garis (1873-1939) was a prolific author best known for his contributions to children's literature and adventure stories. His background in journalism and his keen observation of society during an era of rapid technological change likely informed his portrayal of the quintessential American young adult. This book is highly recommended for readers interested in historical fiction that celebrates the spirit of adventure and the dynamics of wealth in a rapidly evolving society. Twain began his career writing light, humorous verse, but he became a chronicler of the vanities, hypocrisies, and murderous acts of mankind. At mid-career, he combined rich humor, sturdy narrative, and social criticism in Huckleberry Finn. He was a master of rendering colloquial speech and helped to create and popularize a distinctive American literature built on American themes and language.
A complete bibliography of Twain's works is nearly impossible to compile because of the vast number of pieces he wrote (often in obscure newspapers) and his use of several different pen names.
This book contains more than 30 of the most famous and significant works of Mark Twain.

Xuanzang and his disciples encountered Guanyin waiting to remind them to be careful in the nearby kingdom. Its king was hunting for four monks to complete his goal of killing ten thousand. The monkey stole clothes from some locals to conceal their identities as Buddhist monks. They entered the city and decided to sleep in a big trunk in a hostel to make sure no one could discover they were Buddhists while they slept. While in the trunk, the monkey baited hostel attendants by boasting that they were carrying a lot of silver. Local bandits got the word and stole the trunk containing the group in the middle of the night. However, soldiers noticed the burglars and fought to get the trunk back and presented it to the king. The monkey snuck out and shaved everyone in the royal palace bald with razors. The king was shocked the next day and realized that he had made many mistakes. When the group exited the trunk, the king decided to honor Buddhism and let the pilgrims leave safely.
