Assisted by her 4-H club students and the handsome veterinary geneticist analyzing DNA samples, Baa-bara uncovers a scheme involving sheep identity theft, fraudulent breeding records, and a sophisticated operation swapping premium breeding stock with inferior animals. From suspicious wool crimp patterns that reveal cross-breeding to DNA markers that don't match the registered lineage, every fleece tells a story. But when Baa-bara discovers the victim was systematically replacing prize-winning bloodlines with ordinary stock to control the breeding market, she realizes the killer is protecting genetic integrity more valuable than any trophy. With the grand championship judging approaching and the real fleece fraudster still pulling the wool over everyone's eyes, Baa-bara must corral the evidence before her own reputation gets sheared for good.
