Summary

    There's only one problem:

Someone out there doesn't want me to live long enough to say my vows.

And if I'm not careful, they may very well get their wish.

In this cinematic novel, unlikely American venture capitalist Kulio Berken unveils the burdens of his conscious in the most candid confession of an urban romance thriller that has become of his life. His story is one of love, loyalty and betrayal and his provocative account is so visually alluring that the interviewer becomes enthralled in an imaginative trance. As the interview endures, Winston Smith, a journalism student began to romanticize every intimate detail through a musical journey of his own mind as he relives Kulio's transition to power from local barbershop fame to one of cocaine legend.

Being in the pen isn’t that bad as long as you stayed on top of the band of skin heads.

If you’re big enough, the female guards may even let you bang them – and Michael is good at banging.

But, there’s a new game in town. Glendyle Corp has a solution to the female sterility plaguing their world, and they want to turn the prisoners into voluptuous baby making bimbos.

Can a big, bad dude like Michael grow melons and a she-thing if he’s promised a free ticket out of jail? Yes. Yes, he can.

Michael has a fantastic time exploring his, or rather her, new body before being taken into the lab where a machine relentlessly pumps him full of baby making goodness.

It was an average day . . . until a gorgeous demon waltzed into my coffee shop and asked me to be his mate.

I jokingly agreed, but he was serious.

And now I'm mated to him. Permanently.

He drinks lust to survive, so that makes me his immortal meal.

If that wasn't bad enough, he's just gotten out of prison. Because I accidentally bound myself to him, I automatically take responsibility for keeping him on the right side of the law.

So, now I'm living with a rich, dangerously-attractive demon, while a dragon shifter watches us to make sure our marriage is legit, and that my husband doesn't fall back into his sketchy ways . . . because if he does, we're both going back to prison.

What does war sound like in the human soul?

First published in 1865, Drum-Taps by Walt Whitman is a moving collection of poems inspired by the American Civil War. Cash Blackbear, a young Ojibwe woman and occasional sleuth, is back on the case after a man is found dead on a rural Minnesota farm in the next installment of the acclaimed Native crime series.

Minnesota, 1970s: It’s spring in the Red River Valley and Cash Blackbear is doing fieldwork for a local farmer—until she finds him dead on the kitchen floor of the property’s rented farmhouse. The tenant, a Native field laborer, and his wife are nowhere to be found, but Cash discovers their young daughter, Shawnee, cowering under a bed. The girl, a possible witness to the killing, is too terrified to speak.

In the wake of the murder, Cash can’t deny her intuitive abilities: she is suspicious of the farmer’s grieving widow, who offers to take in Shawnee temporarily. While Cash is scouring White Earth Reservation for Shawnee’s missing mother—whom Cash wants to find before the girl is put in the foster system—another body turns up. Concerned by the escalating threat, Cash races against the clock to figure out the truth of what happened in the farmhouse.

Broken Fields is a compelling, atmospheric read woven with details of American Indian life in northern Minnesota, abusive farm labor practices and women’s liberation.
