Lauren Bacall, born Betty Joan Perske (September 16, 1924 - August 12, 2014), was one of the greatest female stars of classic Hollywood cinema and an award-winning Broadway stage actress. She was known for her alluring, sultry presence and her distinctive, husky voice.
