Synopsis

Ingrid Symes, destitute and low on cash, is forced to live with her only living relative, the corrupt and miserly Arthur Symes in the Australian town of Old Town. 
 When her uncle refuses to bequeath his wealth, she sets about robbing him of the $500,000 in his safe, with the aid of the two men she seduces, the foreman of Arthur’s business, Doug Haywood, and a corrupt Detective Rob Charles. 
​Ingrid will use anything at her disposal to get his wealth, her beauty, charm, and cunning; resorting to manipulation, poison, and even murder to achieve her ends. 
​Only two people stand in her way. The mysterious Toby Zacharia, and trainee Detective Kate Trengove on her first case. 
​A story which starts off as a simple robbery soon shows the veil between to this world and the next is very thin.
