Embark on a journey through the ethical and political landscape sculpted by the resolute hand of Henry David Thoreau in his acclaimed essay, "Civil Disobedience." Thoreau, with a spirit unperturbed by the tumultuous laws of man and a soul deeply intertwined with the unwavering morality of nature, crafts a masterpiece that transcends mere words on a page.

This edition, adorned with 15 emotive illustrations, invites you to traverse through Thoreau’s profound contemplations and peaceful insurgence against government, law, and societal norms with an aesthetic embrace that enhances each potent word and echoing thought. Each visual, intricately designed, elevates the textual resonance of Thoreau's work, offering a rich, immersive experience into his world of philosophical and moral explorations.

Thoreau’s "Civil Disobedience" emerges not merely as an essay but as a call, a beckoning, towards moral awakening and the virtue of individual resistance against collective injustice. Thoreau, imprisoned for his refusal to support an unjust war and the harrowing institution of slavery through tax, presents himself not as a mere man but as a steadfast beacon of principled defiance.

In this definitive edition, delve deeper into Thoreau's contemplative prose with the aid of a concise summary and a character list that navigates through the abstract and literal entities within the text. Moreover, an enthralling biography of Henry David Thoreau is included to provide readers with a window into the life and mind of the illustrious writer, revealing the man behind the potent words that have inspired generations of activists, thinkers, and leaders.

Witness the transformative power of a single, determined voice against the behemoth of societal and governmental oppression. Traverse through the untamed wilderness of ethics and discover within Thoreau’s words a sanctuary where the resilient seeds of resistance, and perhaps, revolution, are sown.

Be captivated, be stirred, and perhaps, be changed, as you unravel the threads of "Civil Disobedience," a timeless testament to the unyielding power of individual conviction amidst the multifaceted specter of societal conformity and injustice.

Boozing, Betting & Brawling is the autobiography of former footballer, Mel Sterland, who played for Sheffield Wednesday, Glasgow Rangers and Leeds United. He was also capped once by England. The book which is co-authored by Sheffield-based journalist, Nick Johnson, opens with Sterland recounting plans to commit suicide after being forced into premature retirement from playing. Following an indifferent start to his career at Sheffield Wednesday, Sterland made his name as a marauding full-back, playing under high-profile managerial trio Jack Charlton, Howard Wilkinson and Ron Atkinson. He made a big-money move to Glasgow Rangers, where he played under another well-known football personality, Graeme Souness. Despite being at Ibrox for only a brief spell, Sterland is fondly remembered by Rangers fans for scoring the goals which helped the Glasgow giants win the first of a record-equalling nine league titles. Following his transfer to Leeds, where he played alongside the likes of Eric Cantona and Gordon Strachan, Sterland won a First Division championship-winner's medal, making him one of only a handful of players to win the league title in both England and Scotland. Sterland's story features a heady mix of humour, gambling and punch-ups, and will have widespread appeal to football supporters. In the interests of authenticity, no attempt has been made to smooth off the rough edges, creating an honest, raw account.

The little-known story of one of the most important intelligence triumphs of World War II, and “a record of the heroism of a forgotten man” (Naval Historical Foundation).   This is the story of the capture of Japan’s “Plan Z”—the Empire’s fully detailed strategy for prosecuting the last stages of the Pacific War. It’s a story of happenstance, mayhem, and intrigue that resulted directly in the spectacular US victory in the Philippine Sea and MacArthur’s early return to Manila, doubtless shortening WWII by months.   One night in April 1944, Adm. Koga, commander-in-chief of Japanese forces in the Pacific, took off in a seaplane to establish new headquarters. For security reasons, he had his chief of staff, Rear Adm. Fukudome, fly separately. But both aircraft ran into a typhoon and were knocked out of the skies. Koga did not survive. Fukudome’s plane crash-landed into the sea off Cebu, the Philippines, and both the admiral and the precious war plans floated ashore.   Lt. Col. James M. Cushing was an American mining engineer who happened to be in Cebu when war broke out in the Pacific. He soon took charge of the local guerrillas and became a legendary leader. But his most spectacular exploit came when he captured Fukudome and Plan Z. The result was a ferocious cat-and-mouse game between Cushing’s guerrillas and the Japanese occupation forces. While Cushing desperately sent messages to MacArthur to say what he’d found, the Japanese scoured the countryside, killing hundreds of civilians in an attempt to retrieve it.   Cushing finally traded the admiral for a cessation of civilian deaths—but secretly retained the Japanese war plans. Naturally, both Tokyo and Washington tried to cover up what was happening—neither wanted the other to know what they’d lost or what they’d found. Now, in this book, we finally learn of the intelligence coup by Lt. Col. Cushing that helped shorten the war.   “Every once in a while there is a book about a forgotten or neglected aspect of World War II history that makes a reader wonder why this story has not been turned into a movie. Cushing’s Coup is one of those books.” —Naval Historical Foundation

In 1968, the Beatles trekked to a remote, mysterious, and beautiful part of India known as Rishikesh, or the valley of the saints. For literally thousands of years, this remote riverside valley has been a magnet for advanced yogis, mystics, and seekers of truth. In 1968, it was the absolute zenith of all of this and the pop world as well. It was here the Beatles wrote dozens of now iconic songs while meditating at the feet of the lauded spiritual master. Along with many of the world's most celebrated people, the group once again led the way as innovators in not only music, but innate spirituality as well. Fifty years later, we remember the group's bold trek and artistic accomplishment in this inspirational audio biography from Beatles author and historian Geoffrey Giuliano. The Maharishi, the Beatles, and friends tell their own story in this one-of-a-kind celebration of a magical time gone by. If you are a fan of the Beatles and love their music, you have to have this extended, in-depth look at the birth of The Beatles' White Album. In 1992 Geoffrey Giuliano was asked if he would do an exclusive interview with the Maharishi in Switzerland. The author readily agreed as the reclusive spiritual master almost never met the press and he was embarking on an ambitious program of mass meditation to try to purify vast areas of the United States. After a great deal of negotiation, the two finally got together on Christmas Eve and had a prolonged, stirring conversation that is documented here. In addition, the Maharishi was joined by the late world-class magician Doug Henning. Put together with a chronological, historical narration by Giuliano, here is your chance to go one on one with one of the greatest spiritual minds of our time. This is the complete, exhaustive, untold story of the Beatles and the Maharishi, circa 1968.Produced By India Skye GiulianoEdited Macc Kay Production executive Avalon Giuliano ICON Intern Eden Giuliano Music By AudioNautix

This is a true story. Master Joshua is a pansexual, polyamorous pro-Dom (a male Dominatrix). He leads a leather tribe and, when we met, was battling accusations of rape and abuse. Master Joshua was the intended subject of my story… until I became it. My own name doesn't matter. I can't use it here. Suffice it to say that I was a reporter and a comfortably married mother of two. But, following Joshua deeper and deeper into New York's sexual underground, I crossed the line between observer and participant. Our experiences changed me: I lied and cheated to facilitate them, though a lying cheater was not who I wanted to become. I wanted to remain a good wife and mother, and a decent person. So did Joshua. But we couldn't have our cake and eat it too… or could we? This is a true story, about one of the least understood and most sensationalized factions of LGBTQA+. But more so, it’s about my own family’s capacity to survive.
