    SAINTS AND SINNERS
Book One of The Rake's Progress Trilogy
    By Ludo Stuart -Douglas
From the sun-scorched streets of colonial Saigon to the gilded halls of English country houses, "Saints and Sinners" follows the extraordinary life of Jack Drummond—a man born into privilege but forged by adversity. When his violent father's actions force a young Jack to flee Vietnam for the sanctuary of his grandfather's estate, he learns his first crucial lesson: survival isn't just about strength, but adaptability.
As Jack navigates the treacherous waters of British high society, military service, and the cutthroat world of international business, he blazes a trail of both triumph and scandal. His journey takes him from the polo fields of Argentina to the dangerous backstreets of Bangkok, from Moscow's corridors of power to the wild beauty of Kenya's savannas. Along the way, he encounters a cast of unforgettable characters: the enigmatic Aicha, the fierce Clare, the rebellious Clodagh, and countless others who shape his destiny.
But when his personal life implodes and a custody battle threatens to tear him away from his beloved daughter, Jack must confront the demons of his past and decide what kind of man he truly wants to be. Set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing world from the 1960s through the 1990s, this sweeping saga combines the social observation of Edward St. Aubyn's Patrick Melrose novels with the historical scope of William Boyd's "Any Human Heart."
Perfect for fans of Evelyn Waugh, Sebastian Faulks, and Julian Fellowes, "Saints and Sinners" offers a masterful exploration of power, privilege, and the price of redemption. With prose that crackles with wit and sophistication, Ludo Stuart-Douglas delivers a compelling tale of love, loss, and the eternal struggle between duty and desire.

Gabe's quitting the game and heading somewhere no one knows his name.
    Or his face.
His plan backfires spectacularly--because, of course, it does.
It’ll be fine. Everything will be fine.
Less than twenty-four hours on Heartstone Island and Gabe’s already earned a trespassing citation from an uptight—and infuriatingly hot—forest ranger and has made two good old boys very angry. What can he say? It’s a skill. But if bad things come in threes, he’s not sure he wants to find out what the third will be…
So it doesn’t make sense for him to lend a hand when a local goes missing, but Gabe’s never been that sensible. He refuses to dwell on why he’d rather focus on a stranger’s bad luck than on his own, but if it makes the hot ranger crack a smile and flex his biceps again, it could be worth it.
The fact is, his mom was right. He’s always had a soft spot for losers.
The Last Grift is the first in the Subtle Deceptions series, which follows Gabriel Karne’s various adventures as he finds love, family, and not just a few dead bodies.

Xavier "Scarecrow" Wallace, a mixed-race MMA fighter on the wrong side of thirty, is facing the fight of his life. Xavier can no longer deny he is losing his battle with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), or pugilistic dementia. Through the fog of memory loss, migraines, and paranoia, Xavier does his best to stay in shape by training at the Philadelphia gym owned by his cousin-cum-manager, Shot, a retired champion boxer to whom Xavier owes an unpayable debt.

Xavier makes ends meet while he waits for the call that will reinstate him after a year-long suspension by teaching youth classes at Shot's gym and by living rent-free in the house of his white father, whom Xavier was forced to commit to a nursing home. The progress of Sam Wallace's end-stage Alzheimer's has revealed his latent racism, and Xavier finally gains insight into why his Black mother left the family years ago.
