One feels he’s not worthy of love. The other fears he doesn’t know how. But the sizzling chemistry between them has both tempted to explore the unknown.
    Cyrus
I was intrigued by Crow at first glance. Who wouldn’t be? He’s a mountain of a man, who was raised in a cult and now lives secluded in the wilderness. But the draw I feel to him goes beyond mild interest. When his intense gaze falls my way, it feels like he can see into my soul, to my deepest yearnings and desires.
I took a bold chance venturing to his mountain uninvited. But I can’t help myself. Despite Crow’s dangerous facade, I feel at home when I’m near him. I’ve never felt wanted or needed…until the mountain man took me in his arms.
    Crow
The mountain is my home, the only place that truly suits me. I reveled in my solitude…until Cyrus showed up looking as lonely as I felt. The warmth in his gaze made me welcome someone into my home and my heart when I never have before.
The way he smells. The way he feels. I come apart with his every touch. The past haunts us both. Yet when we’re together, the weight of it is manageable. Cyrus is mine, and I don’t ever want to let him go. Still, I fear that eventually he’ll want to leave the mountain, and for the first time in my life, I don’t want to be alone.
On the Mountain deals with depictions of mental illness, past substance abuse, an MC who was raised in a cult, childhood abuse/neglect and trauma.

Tip #1 for dealing with dragons: be prepared for anything

My whole life, I thought dragons were majestic, wise, and fearsome creatures. Not to mention fictional. It's been less than a year since that last belief was debunked. Dragons are real, they're now living among us, and I'm the lucky realtor who gets to sell a house to their leader. I just have to impress his representative first. No problem—I'm a professional.

Except the dragon rep turns out to be the guy I hooked up with last night, and he's fast disproving everything I believed about dragons. Unless "wise" actually means "addicted to glitter" and "majestic" is a euphemism for "overgrown frat boy."

Hagen might actually be the most annoying person I've ever met, yet I can't resist going on a date with him. One thing's for sure, someone needs to write me a how-to guide for dating a dragon . . . glitter not included.

Corey, born in the early 90s to an unhappy couple who would often go on to describe him as a mistake, would go on to live his life full of very bizarre and unfortunate situations, whether it's through living in supposed haunted houses or many awkward sexual encounters, all whilst having to face continuous anxiety and depression on a daily basis. To say his life is eventful would be an understatement; it's so eventful, to the point that he would always be told by those who are aware of his story that he should write a book, and so here we are—the book has been written.
Throughout the course of this memoir, Corey takes us through the first 33 years of his life with locations ranging from Coventry to Manchester, from London to Blackpool, and from Butlins Skegness to Majorca. We delve into indie music scenes through various bands that Corey was a part of as well as a journey into his varied film taste, from Friday the 13th being the first horror film he watched in full all the way to Everything Everywhere All at Once changing his life and becoming his favourite film of all time upon seeing it at the cinema. Amongst all of this is a dark side, so much so to the point that Corey feels as though he's living through his own horror film as he faces the pressures of coming out of the closet, being in the middle of the many problems of his family, and facing bullies in various areas of life as well as the inescapable bully that is his own mind.
This is a book that has been written as a way of therapy, a way of finding humour in bad situations whilst acknowledging how serious everything is that he has been through over the years, and it's a way of reaching out to people who have been through similar weird, horrific, and difficult times as a helping hand of sorts, a bit of reassurance if you will, reassurance that you're not alone and that someone else has been through this and has lived to tell the tale.
