When Detective Liv DeMarco reports to the scene of a robbery gone wrong, she can't help but think something is off. Why would a dry cleaner need a night watchman? 
The dead guard had no known enemies. Did he really give up his life for a lousy $250 bucks? But while Liv and her partner are investigating, they get called to another crime scene. This one worse than the first. Now two guards are dead. 
Liv is determined to get to the bottom of it. Whoever's committing these robberies isn't in it for just the money. They want something else. And what that is will put Liv's life in danger and make her partner rethink every oath he took when he became a cop...
