Summary

This book collects a series of articles and studies on the topic of the return of Jesus Christ and the events that will immediately precede it.
I don't know if I have ever discussed a more important topic than what I address in this book. While I usually deal with academic studies, here I deal with something that concerns believers today and even every non-believer. The return of Jesus will mark the next great event that will change the history of humanity like nothing before. Whether the world is interested or not, the time of divine patience will soon be over, and God himself will intervene in the troubled course of human history.

I am author of many books, articles and studies. Check my official website for updates www.giuseppeguarino.com

Detective Daniel Swann and debutante Juliette Thorndike once again team up to solve a dangerous mystery—while trying to keep their growing romance secret.

Someone is preying upon the street children of Regency London. They seem to think no one will notice when urchins go missing—and even if they are noticed, who will care? Daniel needs to do something about the missing children. But with recent revelations about his past and an unexpected, somewhat unwelcome inheritance to deal with, this is a terrible time to dive back into the seedy underbelly of the crime world. Nevertheless, he's still a Bow Street runner, and his partner Lady Juliette is sensitive to the plight of these wayward youngsters. They're on the case, searching shadowed alleys and coal-drenched streets to find the missing.

But the tangle of expectation and the dynamics of power cannot be easily ignored, even if there are children in danger. When Daniel's past threatens to overwhelm his future, he will need a miracle and the help of his friends to both apprehend the villain and unravel his tangled family web. And it may be that his new responsibilities demand that he leave the children of the shadows to their terrible fate—or lose everything.

Gleanings are the grain or produce that are gathered after the harvest. These talks are the "gleanings" or "musings" of the author after completing a more comprehensive study of the book of Philippians in The Interpreter's House Audio Bible Commentary. These are highlights painted in broader strokes that emphasize life application.

What happens when old meets new
As David deSilva has experienced the ancient wisdom of the Book of Common Prayer, he's been formed spiritually in deep and lasting ways. In these pages, he offers you a brand new way to use the Book of Common Prayer, that you too might experience new growth, new intimacy with God and a new lens through which to view the world.
Focusing on the four sacramental rites of baptism, Eucharist, marriage and burial, deSilva explores each one in depth through the prayers, liturgies and Scripture readings of the Book of Common Prayer, and then adds his own devotional exercises that help you immediately apply what you've reflected on. As you read and contemplate the material, you may notice old habits, wrong beliefs and negative patterns being replaced with new desires and perspectives that help you draw ever closer to God.
In this innovative and engaging resource David deSilva invites you in to a new way of being spiritually formed through an old book that has shaped thousands of disciples through the years. "I hope that, as you read and pray through this guide," he writes, "you will discover afresh the ways in which the rites contained in the Book of Common Prayer facilitate a genuine encounter with God, and a transforming experience of grace."

Forgiveness is often seen as a personal choice—a decision to let go of past hurts and allow ourselves to heal. At its core, it is the process of releasing resentment, anger, or thoughts of revenge toward someone who has wronged us. While it may seem like an act of kindness directed at others, true forgiveness is, in fact, a gift we give ourselves. By forgiving, we free ourselves from the emotional and mental weight of holding onto painful experiences.
It is important to recognize that forgiveness is not the same as excusing the harmful behavior. It doesn’t mean that the hurtful actions are acceptable or that we should forget about the wrongs done to us. Forgiveness is not a dismissal of pain; rather, it is a conscious choice to stop allowing that pain to control our lives. When we forgive, we are not condoning the actions of others, but instead, we are choosing to release the grip that the negative emotions tied to those actions have on us.
The power of forgiveness lies in its ability to release us from the shackles of negative emotions. Holding onto anger, resentment, or hurt can poison our well-being and cloud our perception of life. By forgiving, we begin the healing process, allowing ourselves to move forward rather than remain stuck in the past. Forgiveness also creates space for growth, both personally and in our relationships with others. It opens up the possibility for renewed connections and understanding.
