Summary

Ten Seconds of Silence is the definitive edition of Gianluca Testa's fiction horror story, written in 2003. Testa won the Fata Morgana Award for the best short story, The Terrace of the Spenalzo House, and the Alberto Moravia Award in 2004. Already published in Ghosts, remorse, absences, and darkness FATA MORGANA 8 CS Coop. Studi Libreria Editrice ISBN 8890145528 (2004) and, in installments, in the YELLOW NERO column of the current affairs weekly CRONACA VERA (2007). Gianluca Testa is an actor, so he wrote this story after a period of study on the psychology of the character of a psychopathic killer that he was supposed to play in the cinema. What are the thoughts of a psychopath? How many potential serial killers are hiding among us and never take the decisive step that leads them to the other side, to cross the thin wall that separates the only imagined evil from the real one? The author's answer is a frightening journey into the darkest depths of the human psyche.
Available since: 03/29/2022.

She retires and they both move to Montana to escape the WHISP phenomenon. It is the only way to save their marriage after the Chester case, even if it leaves their WHISP-affected son, Lincoln, behind.
Then the phone rings. Chester’s in jail, yet there’s been a copycat murder, and Sylvia can’t let the case go. If she missed something the first time, this new blood is on her hands. Ben gives her a month to work the case, but can their marriage survive that long? And as Sylvia digs deeper into the depths of the source of her phobia, how long will her sanity survive?

    Passion, hope, and forbidden desire...
WINNER PNR GUILD AWARD - BEST VAMPIRES & SHIFTERS SERIES!
Holly Jennings wasn’t planning on another trip to Scotland. And she certainly wasn’t planning on a trip down memory lane with the hot Highlander who broke her heart. But she’s never been much of a planner — more like a roll-with-the punches country gal. A good thing too, because “one last request” may not be the only thing a beloved mentor left her in his will. Before Holly knows it, she’s heading on a mysterious mission to a remote island — and straight into danger.
Dragon shifter Lachlan McKenney likes his life logical and organized — not turned upside down by the lithe, impulsive beauty he’s been trying to forget for years. Especially now that he’s busy guarding a ruthless archenemy who’s plotting to escape an island prison. But Holly awakens every emotion Lachlan has been trained to resist: passion, hope, and forbidden desire. Apparently, there’s no outrunning fate, just as there’s no shirking duty. Against the odds, Lachlan must keep Holly safe on her mission to carry out a venerable old dragon’s last wishes. At the same time, he must resist temptation, because letting his focus slip could cost Holly her life — and unleash a deadly foe.

In the narrow, crooked street, among several shabby dwellings, stood a very tall and very narrow house, the framework of which had given so that it was out of joint in every direction. Only poor people lived here, and poorest of all were those who lived in the attic. Outside the small attic window an old, bent bird cage hung in the sunshine; it didn't even have a real bird glass, but had only a bottle neck, upside down, with a cork in its mouth, and filled with water. At the open window stood an old maid who had just been decking the cage with chickweed; the little canary in it hopped from perch to perch and sang with all his might.

    An ancient stained-glass window . . . A medieval manuscript rediscovered after centuries hidden away . . .

It is November 1996. Adam stands bathed in the window’s fractured radiance where Alwin, a novice monk, had stood 1,400 years before him.

As his own world unravels, Adam finds himself inexplicably but irresistibly drawn to the enigmatic Lucy. Does she hold the key to the mystery—and the courage to embrace where it will lead? Alwin must also test the affections of his heart as he accompanies his Abbot, Benedict Biscop, on the perilous journey from seventh-century Jarrow to Rome.

Though separated by over a millennium, their stories become strangely intertwined through the words they share. From the broken but beautiful fragments of art and life, can they begin to piece together the truth that will set them free?

Drawing on the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of North East England, Broken Light is a powerful story of the timeless search for meaning, hope and love, set against the sea-haunted backdrop of Northumbria.
