"Mindset: The New Psychology of Success" by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D., introduces the powerful concept of mindset, which has the potential to impact success in various aspects of life significantly. Based on extensive research, Dweck distinguishes between two mindsets: the fixed mindset, where people believe abilities are unchangeable, and the growth mindset, where individuals believe that abilities can be developed and improved over time.
Dweck's book demonstrates how adopting a growth mindset can lead to incredible achievement in education, work, sports, and the arts. She also delves into the concept of a "false growth mindset" and provides guidance on embracing a deeper and more authentic growth mindset. Furthermore, she extends the application of mindset beyond individuals to groups and organizations, emphasizing how it can shape the culture of these entities.
By understanding and fostering the right mindset, Dweck suggests that leaders, parents, teachers, and coaches can inspire personal growth and transformation in themselves and those they influence. "Mindset" offers invaluable insights into the psychology of success and provides practical strategies for harnessing the power of mindset to achieve outstanding accomplishments.

The Old Testament--especially the Pentateuch--contains not only the traditional account of the creation of the world and of man, but also, locked within it, the secrets of the Egyptian initiators of the Moses concerning the genesis of the god-man (the initiate) and the mystery of his rebirth through philosophy. While the Lawgiver of Israel is known to have compiled several works other than those generally attributed to him, the writings now commonly circulated as the purported sixth and seventh books of Moses are in reality spurious treatises on black magic foisted on the credulous during the Middle Ages. Out of the hundreds of millions of pious and thoughtful students of Holy Writ, it is almost inconceivable that but a mere handful have sensed the sublimity of the esoteric teachings of Sod (the Jewish Mysteries of Adonai). Yet familiarity with the three Qabbalistical processes termed Gematria, Notarikon, and Temurah makes possible the discovery of many of the profoundest truths of ancient Jewish superphysics.

This book contains the following three titles:
Psychodynamic Therapy - Psychodynamic therapy is an approach to psychological treatment rooted in the ideas and concepts developed by Sigmund Freud and his followers. It emphasizes the importance of unconscious processes and early childhood experiences in shaping an individual's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This therapy aims to bring these unconscious factors into conscious awareness, helping individuals gain insight and resolve internal conflicts that may be contributing to current psychological difficulties.
Psychosocial Therapy - Psychosocial therapy is a holistic approach to mental health care that emphasizes the interconnectedness of psychological and social factors in promoting well-being and recovery. Unlike traditional approaches that primarily focus on symptom management through medication or isolated psychotherapy, psychosocial therapy addresses the broader context of an individual’s life. It explores how relationships, community involvement, cultural background, and socioeconomic conditions influence mental health outcomes.
Play Therapy - Play is a fundamental aspect of childhood, serving as a natural medium through which children explore the world, express emotions, and develop essential skills. For children facing emotional, social, or psychological challenges, play becomes more than just a recreational activity; it transforms into a powerful tool for healing and growth. Play therapy harnesses the innate creativity and spontaneity of play to address a wide range of difficulties, offering children a safe and supportive environment to work through their struggles.

Fortress London: Why we need to...

A vividly written and timely polemic tackling the burning injustices shaping British society today.
‘Intelligently written and powerfully argued.’ Paul Mason
‘Witty, scathing, and entertaining.’ Danny Dorling
Journalist Sam Bright is a Northerner living in London. He is just one of the millions of people clinging on to the coattails of the capital, sucked in by the prospect of opportunities that the rest of the United Kingdom does not enjoy.
Our capital is a vast melting pot of languages, cultures, and ideas, and rightly celebrated for it. For many, though, there is no other option. The only place to access the opportunities this country offers is London. Banking, law, politics, advertising, architecture, the arts and the media are all concentrated here. It is almost impossible to reach the heights of any profession without joining the grey hoards queuing for the next tube. As the economic, political, and cultural epicentre of the country, Fortress London acts more like a renaissance city-state like Florence or Venice than the capital of a modern nation-state. And the gluttony of London, compared to the malnourishment of our regions, dramatically affects life chances in Britain.
Fortress London argues that to address Britain’s manifold problems, we need first to end the hegemony of its capital. Enriched by a vast array of interviews and statistics, it will examine how our individual destinies, from childhood to death, are determined by the disproportionate power of London. It will explain why regional inequality has fallen off the Left’s radar, even as the Right pays lip service to it, and it will draw on international comparisons to show where we have gone wrong and, crucially, how we can fix it.
Sam Bright’s clear-eyed intervention will convince you that regional inequality is the problem — and that now is the time for change.
Featuring exclusive interviews with: Andy Burnham, Lisa Nandy, Steve Rotheram, Aditya Chakrabortty, David Blunkett, Jess Phillips, Andrew Adonis and more…
In Fortress London, Sam Bright masterfully delves into the science of social disparity and the geography of opportunity, painting a vivid picture of a city that is both a beacon of hope and a fortress of inequality. The book is a top pick for anyone interested in public affairs, policy planning, and the human cost of regional inequality.
For fans of James O'Brien (How They Broke Britain), Chris Bryant (James and John), Grace Blakeley (Vulture Capitalism), Ian Dunt (Conspiracy Theory), and Rory Stewart (The Places In Between).

    Fall of Rome and Constantinople...

For the people of the ancient Mediterranean and beyond, the city of Rome had been a symbol of power for centuries, and entering the early 5th century CE, the Eternal City hadn’t been taken by an enemy force since the Gauls had done it about 800 years earlier, an unheard of period of tranquility in a world wracked with almost constant warfare.
Thus, when the Visigoths, whom the Romans considered uncultured and inferior, took the city of Rome and sacked it in 410, the world was stunned. It made theologians of the newly Christianized empire question God’s plan on Earth, and it encouraged many leading Romans to look east to Constantinople for their future. Indeed, the Western Roman Empire would completely collapse in the late 5th century, less than 70 years after the Visigoths sacked Rome, and just how it went from being a superpower to a poorly led, weak, and vulnerable shadow of its former self has preoccupied historians for centuries.
To this day, it remains difficult to trace just when the decline began, but it’s fair to say that the sack of Rome was the result of a number of factors that had been coalescing for many years. 	In the end, the fall of the Roman Empire was not a tale of cataclysmic events that shattered the sprawling power, but the culmination of centuries of internal dissent and decay, combined with growing external threats that led to gradual decline and eventually to the empire’s final destruction.
In terms of geopolitics, perhaps the most seminal event of the Middle Ages was the successful Ottoman siege of Constantinople in 1453. The city had been an imperial capital as far back as the 4th century, when Constantine the Great shifted the power center of the Roman Empire there, effectively establishing two almost equally powerful halves of antiquity’s greatest empire. Constantinople would continue to serve as the capital of the Byzantine Empire even after the Western half of the Roman Empire collapsed.
