Summary

'Riveting' Kirk DouglasFrom his first Oscar, Marlon Brando built an impenetrable fortress around his private life: unauthorised releases—or snapshots of him, even by friends—were forbidden. George Englund was Brando's closest friend for almost fifty years and the last person to visit him before his death. Based on deeply personal stories from the death of their sons to Jackie Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe, he draws Brando's life as only they knew it. A young actor emerges who was beautiful in every way; driven by his instinctive talent to break new ground, athletic, muscular, seductive, intelligent and generous. And, from early on, seeds of self-destruction began to grow.

After the fairy tale of Happily Ever After ends in heartbreak, what then? From multi-award-winning author River Faire comes an inspiring account of second chances, healing, inexplicable magic, and following the soul's compass.
River, an alternative healer and Paris-trained chef--a decidedly reluctant mystic-returns to England from America to help his ex-partner, back from the brink of death. Stepping into a London life he left behind, haunted by ghosts, he finds himself on an unanticipated journey of the heart. When the two men relocate to the English countryside, he discovers more than a charming pastoral landscape, he unexpectedly glimpses the fabric of life itself.
With disarming honesty and a searching, lyrical voice, WHERE TWO WORLDS TOUCH is a transcendent narrative about navigating the intricacies of the human heart, no matter whom we love. An invitation to say yes to uncertainty and vulnerability, to trust the unknowable mystery, while seeking the place we belong and what is uniquely ours to bring. A genre-defying memoir-one part love story, one part celebration of the table, one part ode to nature, and one part soul guide woven as an indelible offering that lingers long past the final page.

The Story of one "FORGOTTEN" Veteran's Widow who fought the VA for over two decades while working full-time, raising three children and completing the VA's insurmountable and required Claims/Appeals paperwork to correct what the VA later described as their "Egregious Error." i.e., The VA paid the Widow's DIC Spousal Benefits to the wrong person for twenty-seven years! With her strong Faith, determination and perseverance, she "WON" her VA Legacy Appeal in 2024! She feels her VA battle was a "Purpose" from GOD she never asked for, but accepted, to encourage others to "Never Give Up."
Every Veteran and their family have a story Congress and America need to hear. As a Veteran's Widow and Military Mom, my heart has typed the words to our story. My Husband of sixteen years, the father of our three children, died from exposure to Agent Orange in 1996. Following his funeral, I applied for my DIC Spousal Benefits - only to be informed by the VA they were paying my Spousal Benefits to a person who had filed fraudulent documents.
I fought the VA's insurmountable paperwork for 28 years and "WON" in 2024!
I pray our story will encourage all Americans to live each day remembering...through relentless faith, love and perseverance, your family, just like ours today, will know, "The Impossible Dream" is, indeed, "Possible."

"George Dewey, a name etched in the annals of naval history, stands as a testament to courage, strategy, and unwavering resolve. Let us embark on a voyage through the life of this remarkable admiral. Early Life and Naval Career: Born on December 26, 1837, in Montpelier, Vermont, George Dewey's destiny was intertwined with the sea. At age 15, he enrolled at Norwich University in Vermont, but his spirited antics led to expulsion for drunkenness and herding sheep into barracks. Undeterred, Dewey entered the United States Naval Academy in 1854. His graduation in 1858 marked the beginning of a storied naval career. Civil War and Rising Through the Ranks: As the Civil War erupted, Dewey served as the executive lieutenant aboard the USS Mississippi. He played pivotal roles in the capture of New Orleans and the Siege of Port Hudson, aiding the Union's control of the mighty Mississippi River. By war's end, Dewey had risen to the rank of lieutenant commander. The Battle of Manila Bay: In 1897, Dewey requested assignment to the Asiatic Squadron, anticipating conflict with Spain. When war erupted in April 1898, he led his squadron to Manila Bay in the Philippines. On that fateful morning, Dewey's cruisers and gunboats faced the Spanish fleet. His immortal command echoed: "You may fire when you are ready, Gridley." The result: a resounding victory. The Spanish fleet lay defeated, and Dewey suffered no significant casualties. His triumph at Manila Bay secured the acquisition of the Philippines by the United States, expanding its power into the western Pacific. Admiral of the Navy: Dewey returned home to a hero's welcome in New York City. In March 1899, the U.S. Congress bestowed upon him the unprecedented rank of Admiral of the Navy. For the next 17 years, he served on the General Board of the United States Navy, shaping crucial policies. Legacy: George Dewey's legacy transcends battles and ranks. His victory at Manila Bay remains a beacon of American naval prowess. His life straddled two centuries, witnessing naval evolution and global shifts. Dewey's name graces the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., a testament to his indelible mark on history. Admiral Dewey's story, like the sea itself, ripples through time—a saga of valor, leadership, and the enduring spirit of exploration."
