Summary

In the unforgiving streets of South Central Los Angeles, Lieutenant Jack Adams walks through shadows most people fear to tread. When a gang officer is shot by a sniper in Nickerson Gardens, Adams finds himself on a collision course with Commander Stans Jelenick, whose political ambitions clash with Adams' relentless pursuit of justice.

As Adams establishes an undercover operation called "Gold Rush" to take illegal guns off the streets, he becomes the target of a ruthless Russian Mafia family. What begins as a straightforward mission spirals into a deadly game when the Russians discover Adams' identity, leading to a brutal attack that leaves a detective dead and Adams fighting for his life.

Wounded and bleeding, Adams must battle through his injuries to protect a young victim and his own family from the Russians' wrath. With enemies on both sides—criminals who want him dead and a police commander willing to sacrifice him for political gain—Adams faces the ultimate test of his resolve and commitment to the badge he carries.

Written by a 30-year veteran of the LAPD, "In Your Mind's Eye" delivers an unflinching portrayal of modern policing where the line between monster and protector blurs in the struggle for justice. This gripping tale explores loyalty, corruption, and the toll that serving in law enforcement takes on those who walk its thin blue line.

If you enjoyed "The Black Echo," "The Onion Field," or "The Force," you'll love "In Your Mind's Eye."

“The Hammer of God,” readers are surprised to learn from Father Brown that the murderer is not a violent madman but rather a very respected member of the community. The Reverend Wilfred Bohun could no longer stand the scandalous behavior of his alcoholic brother Norman, who blasphemed God and humiliated the Reverend Bohun in the eyes of his parishioners. Chesterton states that Wilfred and Norman Bohun belong to an old noble family whose descendants are now mostly “drunkards and dandy degenerates.” Rumor has it that there has been “a whisper of insanity” in the Bohun family.

Laurie Lisa's latest audiobook is now available!
Hollister McClane, is a captivating, fun, and lighthearted picaresque mixing crime fiction with a bit of good old-fashioned Southern charm. Hollister’s wild adventures will keep you turning pages non-stop!
A small-town Southern Missouri beauty (if she does say so herself), Hollister has an uncanny knack for accidentally robbing banks, convenience stores, and possibly even a drug cartel. Toss in a couple of grand theft autos—purely by accident, of course—but she wouldn’t hurt a fly. Not even when Ruger falls into her lap.
Savvy, self-taught, and eternally optimistic, Hollister hitchhikes, runs, and drives her way across America’s heartland, stumbling into one misadventure after another. After unintentionally robbing her first bank dressed as Uncle Sam, she decides life on the run must be fate. And lucky for her, she’s a genius at disguises (if she does say so herself).
Hollister always tries to put her ill-gotten gains to good use, but somehow, the money never seems to stick. Meanwhile, a few complications keep popping up: the law, the lovers, the three not-quite-ex-husbands, the babies, and, of course, world-weary Mama. And when she finally does use that gun—well, let’s just say it’s pointed a little too close to home.
    BOOK REVIEWS
5* "A fun romp! . . . With so many who-done-it books out there and trashy romance and sci-fi, it is refreshing to just sit down and read a fun tale of a sweet young girl making her way thru the good ‘ol U.S. of A. Hollister has a great spirit and solid Southern values, and best of all, she loves her mama!"
5* "Entertaining, Enthralling, and Brilliantly Written: A MUST READ OF 2021! . . . This was a truly engaging read. Author Laurie Lisa hits it out of the park once more."
