In this brand new addition to the No B.S. series, you'll learn how to build a business that you can sell for maximum wealth. Every business owner dreams of pursuing a successful, top-dollar exit that'll get them a seven- to eight- figure payday, but few ever achieve it. Those who do manage to sell their business are often bogged down by ruthless investment firms, BS valuation formulas, or their own poor business practices and systems. These stop business owners from getting the maximum amount of wealth that they can from their businesses. Don't be one of them!

Luckily, business experts and sellers themselves, Dan Kennedy and David Melrose have the antidote. You'll discover who the potential buyers are for your business and how to tap into a whole new market primed to buy; how to set up a business that is built to sell, with your future exit strategy always in mind; how to sell "Blue Sky" and ditch the traditional valuation formula to achieve the biggest payday possible; ways to negotiate with potential buyers and survive the "Deal-Killers;" and how to live life and set yourself up for success after the sale; plus, real interviews with company owners who successfully sold their companies to achieve top-dollar exits. If you own or are even thinking about starting a business and want to achieve real wealth, then you can't afford not to listen to this book!

Ronald Coase (1910-2013) was one of the most influential economists of the 20th century. His influence is due largely to two publications, the only two cited in the announcement of his Nobel Prize: “The Nature of the Firm” (1937) and “The Problem of Social Cost” (1960). These two articles are among the most-cited works in economics. The ideas Coase developed in these two works led to entirely new fields of inquiry in economics, law, management, and political science, and in conjunction with his article on using markets to allocate radio spectrum (Coase 1959), spawned new market design theory and practice that helped to transform our society and enable innovation and digitization.
Coase’s style of theory, analysis, and persuasion was narrative, fact-driven, and much less formal than is the norm in economics. Coase spent his career asking deceptively simple questions that revealed profound complexities in the arrangement of economic activity. Why do firms exist? Why don’t we allocate scarce resources such as radio spectrum by using markets instead of regulation? Can people resolve conflicts over resource use through bargaining and contracts, or is government regulation necessary? Is a lighthouse a public good that requires government provision? How does a durable goods monopolist price its output?
Ronald Harry Coase was born in Willesden, a London suburb, on December 29, 1910. While attending the University of London, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1932, Coase was awarded the Sir Ernest Cassell Travelling Scholarship. This scholarship enabled him to travel to the United States, study at the University of Chicago from 1931 to 1932 with Frank Knight and Jacob Viner, and visit several factories to learn how they organized production. In particular, his visits to Ford and General Motors factories provided an empirical foundation for his first paper, “The Nature of the Firm” (1937).

One of the few Black women to break into the boy's club of Silicon Valley offers her secrets for how anyone can build a legacy of wealth and impact. Having lived nearly her entire life below the poverty line before going on to attain wealth and success as an entrepreneur and investor, Arlan Hamilton knows that money is power—but not for the reasons most people believe. Money is power, she says, because it provides us with options: to pursue our passions, take risks, and change our situation in life. In Your First Million, Hamilton argues that entrepreneurship is the quickest path to attaining that power—particularly for those who haven’t had much of it in the past— shows how anyone—no matter what they look like or how much money they have—can tap into all the new tools, platforms, and sources of funding available to get their million-dollar idea off the ground. Readers will learn: how to identify unmet needs in the market, raise money in ways that preserve ownership, choose the right collaborators, create multiple income streams, and turn their unique knowledge and experience into a profitable businesses—while reinvesting in their communities and empowering others to do the same. If we can change who gets to decide what new ideas are worthy, and who gets to turn those ideas into reality, not only can we change our own circumstances—we can change the world.
