Summary

What is Random Sample Consensus

Random sample consensus, also known as RANSAC, is an iterative method that is used to estimate the parameters of a mathematical model based on a collection of observed data that includes outliers. This method is used in situations where the outliers are permitted to have no impact on the values of the estimates. The conclusion is that it is also possible to view it as a tool for detecting outliers. An algorithm is considered to be non-deterministic if it is able to generate a suitable result only with a certain probability, and this likelihood increases as the number of iterations that are permitted via the method increases. In 1981, Fischler and Bolles, who were working at SRI International, were the ones who initially published the algorithm. In order to solve the Location Determination Problem (LDP), which is a problem in which the objective is to find the points in space that project onto an image and then convert those points into a set of landmarks with known positions, they utilized RANSAC.

AI is transforming software development, shifting programmers from writing code to collaborating with AI in an intent-driven workflow. Vibe coding—a prompt-first, exploratory approach where you describe what you want in natural language and let a large language model fill in the blanks—represents a radical shift in the developer's role from writing code to directing it. However, vibe coding comes with a serious caveat: Like a high-speed exploratory vehicle, it can take you off the beaten path quickly. Beyond Vibe Coding: From Coder to AI-Era Developer explores how AI-powered coding assistants like GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex are reshaping the way we build software, from automating routine coding tasks to influencing architecture and design decisions.

Written by Addy Osmani, this guide provides developers, tech leads, and organizations with practical strategies to integrate AI into their workflows effectively. Learn how to formulate clear goals and constraints for the AI, review AI-generated code critically, and integrate those pieces into a coherent whole. Whether you're adopting AI tools today or preparing for the future of software engineering, this book offers insights and hands-on examples to keep your skills sharp in this evolving landscape.

The book is an abridged story of life that we see now and the life forms that
existed in the past. Readers can flip through pages of the planet's
history and explore the secrets hidden in the fossils scattered across forgotten landscapes.
The species we see today are only a tiny fraction of all those that
have ever lived on Earth. Most of the species have vanished throughout the Earth's history.
The author intersected at five major extinction episodes and narrated
selected stories of the lost world while highlighting life's journey on our plants —from tiny
microorganisms to massive dinosaurs, mammoths and mastodons, ultimately leading up to humans.
Unfortunately, we're now facing a critical moment when Earth’s biodiversity is at risk of being wiped out entirely,
and our planet may stop breathing one day. This prompts readers to reflect on what we have done to bring life's
diversity to such a vulnerable state. The author concludes the book with future perspectives on how we all can stop the next mass extinction.
