Synopsis

Bambi by Felix Salten is a profound and touching story that transcends its simple narrative of a young deer's life in the forest. The novel is far more complex and emotional than many of its adaptations. The story follows Bambi, a roe deer, from his birth through his early life experiences in the forest. As a fawn, he is cared for by his gentle mother and quickly learns about the joys and dangers of forest life. Bambi befriends other animals, such as Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk, and they share adventures and playful moments together. As Bambi grows older, he becomes more independent and assumes the role of the prince of the forest, a position held by his father. Through various experiences, including love and loss, he gains wisdom about life, survival, and the natural world.

    YOUNG BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE
    PORT OF BRISTOL 1690
Book 5 of 6 – The Ghost of the Back Garden Lagoon
Here is the summary of the Story:
In 1690s Bristol, young Edward Teach (the future Blackbeard) and his crew investigate eerie splashing sounds from a rain barrel—rumoured to harbour a ghost. Armed with lanterns and nerves of steel, they stage a midnight raid, only to discover the "spectre" is a magnificent frog with luminous eyes. Edward, ever the showman, declares the amphibian their new mascot: "Captain Croaker." The crew transforms an old fish tank into a pirate lagoon, complete with miniature shipwrecks and a tiny Jolly Roger. Through this adventure, Edward demonstrates his knack for turning fear into opportunity—a skill that would later define his reign as history's most theatrical pirate. The tale blends authentic period details of Bristol's maritime culture with childhood whimsy, showing how Blackbeard's legendary leadership began with simple backyard adventures and loyal friends.
This is the fifth of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy this fifth instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price.
the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes being accordion, fiddle, harmonica and bango in a classical sea shanty jig. The closing music ends the tale on a similar jig and at about 2 minutes with the same musical instruments but more upbeat looking forward to the next episode.
The story itself runs to about 30 minutes is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

Chronicles of Wonder tells the story of the imaginative boy born in Ireland who loved books and poetry and grew himself to be a famous teacher and writer. But before he penned The Space Trilogy or The Chronicles of Narnia, Clive Staples Lewis found friends in other stories, including tales from Beatrix Potter, The Wind and the Willows, Phantastes by George MacDonald, and The Pilgrim’s Progress. In this fictionalized biography, author Leah Boden intertwines the life of Lewis—or as his friends knew him, “Jack”—with literary works that impacted him. From Shakespeare to his close friend Tolkien, each chapter takes you through the life of Jack and the works that steadied and guided him.Readers travel through Jack’s boarding school days, The Great War, and his professorship at Oxford. They learn when Jack came to trust in Jesus and how he then became a voice for the Christian world. As each chapter unfolds, young readers are encouraged by the creativity, wisdom, and humility of Jack, while gaining an appreciation for the heart shaping power of books.
