Synopsis

We need lights in our lives to continue living and have a good time. Lights can be in the form of contentment, which can be derived from a real love or a happy life. Searching for Lights is a book of poems and short stories that will take you on a journey of discovering different kinds of love: soothing love, secret love, unspoken love, and real love. In this book, you are going to see how life is rich in both happiness and sadness, regrets and hopes. There you could be lost and struggle for love which can take you on ups and downs, humps and turbulences. Somehow fantasy is not discounted in this book. Two short stories will drag you into a world of thrills and excitement. Nevertheless, this book carries lots of meaningful, moving sentences that can be used as quotes and deep posts. And not to mention the meaningful drawings that accompanied each poem in order to deepen the meaning and clarify the message of the poem. Dear reader, you may find your story or a situation that has happened to you previously in this book –  this life is a set of experiences that we have lived, even if the details differ. I hope you enjoy your journey 'Searching for Lights'.

Tom Stodulka has loved to write for many years, though as a child he found this form of expression was a struggle. As the years progressed, through high school and law school, Stodulka gained an appreciation of language and how it could be used a s a tool for making a difference. His confidence grew enough to write diaries of his life in the Navy and eventually in 1976, on board the HMAS Duchess , he wrote his first poem, The World and the Future, which features in his first publication, Strom Clouds and Silver Linings; My Journey.
In this, his fifth publication, Tom continues to reflect, share his creative output and positively impact those with his work. Life is Love contains seventy brand new poems along with thirty of his previous works that his dedicated readers have requested be featured as special favourites. Also you will find reflections from fellow authors and Tom’s publisher on their experience of sharing special creative moments with him.
People often ask me what inspires me to write. The answer is simple; I love capturing the moment of a changing world and value incredibly the impact my writing has on my readers, whether it is my wife, family and friends, or complete strangers across the globe. A big thank you to you all.

Tropes and archetypes have been the backbone of storytelling for millennia, portraying characters predestined to fulfill certain roles before they even have a chance to discover their true selves. However, this traditional narrative approach isn't the only path stories can take. The Relic of Trying employs epic, romantic poetry to breathe life into a variety of characters and settings, who find themselves in peculiar predicaments. Imagine a God killer burdened with guilt, a fresh retelling of the dancing plague, or a robot that fails to achieve its intended function. In this collection, perspectives are shifted, casting historical narratives in a human light. The poems explore the intersection of performance, obligation and free will, weaving through diverse epochs and reinterpreting myths and legends. These poems break away from focusing on the protagonists' triumphs; instead, they delve into tales of their struggles and failures, offering a unique and humanizing take on timeless narratives.

A New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice and one of The Guardian's Best Poetry Books of 2024.Winner of the Sky Arts Award for Poetry."[The Wickedest is] alive in the way poetry must be." —Dwight Garner, The New York Times"Atmospheric and intoxicating, lyrical and inviting, The Wickedest is a heady night in the dance, and Caleb Femi is the life of the literary party." —Candice Carty-Williams, author of QueenieAn immersive epic taking place over one night at an underground London house party, conjured by a multi-hyphenate sensation.Welcome to the Wickedest, the longest running house party in the South London shoob scene, always held at an undisclosed inner-city spot. You better hope you have the address: this is for locals only.Sweaty and cinematic, pulsing with rhythm and heat, every moment here—from one-on-one intimacies to the swell of the party’s collective roar—is refracted in Caleb Femi’s writing. Ingeniously blending conversations, text messages, sonnets, vignettes, monologues, photos, and lyrics, The Wickedest is a modern epic, told as a minute-by-minute chronicle of an unforgettable night out.Femi, a multi-hyphenate sensation and the author of Poor, which was called “a landmark debut for British poetry” by The Guardian, is a generational storyteller and scene setter. But The Wickedest does more than tell the story of one party; Femi uses the experience of nightlife to document the broader contexts surrounding the shoobs—the marginalization of low-income communities of color, the red tape that bars those on the edges from already shrinking communal space. Still, the party goes on. The Wickedest is a respite and a reckoning, a community of desire, care, and resistance that carries on long past the night’s end.
