Summary

In 1801, Martin Dunne spends his days as a hardworking clerk at the War Office in London's Whitehall. One summer evening, after a drink in a Fleet Street tavern, he has an unexpected passionate encounter with a seducer who haunts his dreams.
But when they accidentally meet at a society function, the alluring stranger not only turns out to be the son of one of Martin's superiors but also betrothed to a trusting young lady.
Martin's hopes are dashed as he imagines the Hon. William Grant is a cynical rake of the worst kind. But has he misunderstood the situation? And might he allow Will to explain and give their fleeting connection a chance to develop into a fully-fledged romance?

Cassandra Lightman grew up making trinkets and toys. She was on her way to inventing a "flying machine" when she was committed to a sanatorium for hysteria. That's where Dr. Timothy Brown found Sandra and saw her promising intelligence. After Sandra shows Dr. Brown how to cure hysteria in women, she begins to work under him in his medical practice. Since Sandra cannot practice medicine and has no support from her family, she must carry on her position in secret. She goes into Dr. Brown's office through the back door, speaking to no one, and always covering her face.
Sandra soon meets Bedelia Morten, one of her patients behind the red curtain. Bedelia Morten is an upper class wife with a banker husband and three children of her own. She suffers from insomnia and nightmares, which leads her to seek out Dr. Brown's practice. Though Bedelia is initially skeptical of Sandra's skill, she soon learns to appreciate Sandra's talent and company.
When their relationship becomes too close, Sandra is encouraged by Dr. Brown to invent a "stand-in" for herself. Sandra goes back to her experimental roots and visits her idol-inventor Marlin Manchester. Sandra works many long nights in hopes of creating the first steam-powered vibrator. When Sandra's invention takes off, she is forced to reconsider her role both in and out of the examination room, her future, and who she wants by her side.

Rafael owns my heart. He stole it with the first clumsy bump in a Parisian bookstore, and I never asked him to return it.

He gifted me a night to remember, a night that shaped the person I would become. And then, I lost him. I lost every trace that could have helped me find him. Until fate meddled again and put Rafael and me on the same cross-European train through the Alps.

But if I hoped that some divine hand guided us to one another, I was terribly mistaken.

Our second encounter sparked a decade of failed attempts and missed chances. For years, I yearned to be with him, and for years, something took him away. Our lives are so intertwined that we will never be free of one another. And yet, each time I see him, my dream of a happy ending fades a little more.

Is stealing moments with Rafael enough to live on? Can I survive on glimmers of hope? I don't think so.

It's time to take our happy ending away from fate's hands. It's time to break this cursed cycle once and for all.

Garrison: Love sucks! There I said it. I've never looked for it, nor do I want it. All it seems to do is cause open wounds. I already suffer from the guilt of a horrific accident. I won't let love suck me down the rabbit hole. But Murphy's Law is a diva out to destroy my life. Someone sees me for more than just a one and done and though I've pushed men away for years, he's refreshing. But remember that diva I told you about, she's sort of a b**** too. Yeah, love more than sucks but since I can't use the words I want, I'll just stick to that because the man I want has a connection with me, no one knows about.

Lawson: I met a man. Sure he's a little detached and cynical. Though, try telling my heart he's all wrong for me. I've been over it with this particular traitorous part of my body. And, I do the one thing I never do with my hook-ups. I give him a way to reach me. But it's more—I almost beg him to call me after my next deployment. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, I'm in the military and am shipping out. I want him to be my welcoming party, when I come home, yet, when I unravel every complicated part of Garrison Fisher, I find more and more I should run from. But I can't. He's broken, but after my time in the military, I'm broken too. Can we fix one another and heal the wounds that may very well tear us apart?

Sequel to There Will Be Aliens
Brox was once a fierce warrior, but now his only job is to share his home with an alien. A human.
All Forest Blue wanted was to go on a trip to Europe, not get kidnapped by aliens. He hadn't even known aliens existed. Though, he guessed things could be worse. The huge devil lookalike he's been given to hasn't tried to eat him ... yet. Small favors. But would it cost him to smile now and then?
Brox Scoreceds Cruul was once a fierce warrior, now demoted to take care of an alien. A few months back, the leading females had sent a ship to gather ten human females from their home planet in hopes of saving the Negudade people from extinction. Now a male has arrived on the planet, and the leading females have given him to Brox, since he has a language implant that allows him to understand humans. His assignment is to make the human thrive. How could anyone make a human thrive?
The devils have the emotional depth of a shallow water puddle, but Brox feeds Forest and makes sure he has everything he needs. It's not what Forest imagined his life to be, but when a creep starts following him around, Brox goes all snarly devil on his stalker. So maybe having an alien husband isn't too bad?
