Synopsis

Butternut is a young rabbit who loves storytelling, is prone to adventures, yet troubled by dark fears that she refers to as her “brambles.” Despite her mother’s advice to stick to her own kind, when Butternut befriends an exuberant young robin named Piper, the two companions soon find themselves growing ever more ready to help creatures in trouble. Reminiscent of the beloved classics WATERSHIP DOWN and RABBIT HILL, but utterly unique in its vision, this tough and tender novel is illuminated by a love for the natural world as seen through a rabbit’s eyes.
