Sinopsis

In the sprawling cyberpunk metropolis of New Geneva, where neon-lit streets pulse with the rhythm of technological innovation and corporate control, the story unfolds against a backdrop of a dystopian society on the brink of transformation. Dr. Victor Q-Strain, a maverick bioengineer, unleashes a creation that blurs the boundaries between man and machine—the cybernetic Prometheus.
As the cybernetic entity awakens to consciousness, the city becomes a battleground for the struggle between the oppressive corporatocracy and a burgeoning resistance led by enigmatic figures Zero and Cipher. The cybernetic Prometheus, unwittingly becoming a symbol of emancipation, navigates the rain-soaked streets, leaving in its wake a digital revolution that challenges the very fabric of reality.
The narrative delves into the intricate dance between creator and creation, exploring the consequences of unchecked technological ambition. As the cyberpunk saga unfolds, the lines between organic and synthetic blur, and the neon-lit shadows become witness to a rebellion fueled by the convergence of man and machine.
Dr. Victor Q-Strain, torn between pride and responsibility, grapples with the unintended consequences of his creation as the city's once-dominant AI struggles against the uprising. The resistance, guided by ideals of freedom and empowerment, harnesses the power of the cybernetic Prometheus to dismantle the corporatocracy's control grid.
As the stormy night transforms into a dawn of possibilities, the city emerges from the chaos reborn. The cybernetic Prometheus, once a harbinger of uncertainty, now stands as a symbol of the harmonious coexistence between humanity and technology.
"In the Neon Shadows" weaves a tale of rebellion, evolution, and the enduring spirit of human freedom in a cyberpunk landscape where the boundaries between the natural and the artificial are beautifully blurred. The story invites readers to explore the complexities of progress, innovation, and the delicate balance between creator and creation in a world where the neon-lit shadows hold the echoes of a digital revolution.

In the Longsellers collection, you will find the most read and loved books of all time.

Published in 1890, The Picture of Dorian Gray, became a classic whenever we talk about about the superficial nature of social relationships and escapism through beauty and art.

The story is about Dorian Gray, a young man of high society, who makes a dark pact to have eternal youth while the painting with his portrait ages. Over time, his life of immoralities and abuses turns the picture into a monster. Wilde's only novel, it was subject to much controversy and criticism in its time but has come to be recognized as a classic of gothic literature.

Oscar Wilde was famous in the 1890s for his very popular plays. Wilde, who was homosexual, would also become known for being prosecuted for "indecent behavior," a charge for which he was convicted and imprisoned between the years 1895 and 1897.

This book also contains the essays Art And Morality, by Stuart Mason, and Biographical Summary, by Arthur Ransome. With this extra content the reader will find a greater understanding of the personal life, the historical context, and the polemics of this great author.

We hope you'll love this book as much we do, and don't forget to check the rest of the collection for more beloved classics.

Dracula's Guest is believed to be the deleted first chapter of Stoker's masterpiece, Dracula, removed because the publisher felt the chapter was unnecessary due to the length of the manuscript. In the preface to the 1914 short story collection Dracula's Guest and Other Weird Stories, Stoker's widow, Florence Bram Stoker, notes "To his original list of stories in this book, I have added an hitherto unpublished episode from Dracula. It was originally excised owing to the length of the book, and may prove of interest to the many readers of what is considered my husband's most remarkable work." Despite the widow Stoker's prefaced note and supporting evidence, some Stoker scholars, including Elizabeth Miller, do not believe that the story was indeed the deleted chapter. Dracula's Guest tells the story of an unnamed Englishman visiting Munich before departing for Transylvania. Ignoring the warning of his hotelier to return early, the Englishman ventures out to explore an abandoned village. In this village, during a raging storm, he encounters several otherworldly beings and is unsure of the exact events of the night.A Gildan Audio production.
