Corey, born in the early 90s to an unhappy couple who would often go on to describe him as a mistake, would go on to live his life full of very bizarre and unfortunate situations, whether it's through living in supposed haunted houses or many awkward sexual encounters, all whilst having to face continuous anxiety and depression on a daily basis. To say his life is eventful would be an understatement; it's so eventful, to the point that he would always be told by those who are aware of his story that he should write a book, and so here we are—the book has been written.
Throughout the course of this memoir, Corey takes us through the first 33 years of his life with locations ranging from Coventry to Manchester, from London to Blackpool, and from Butlins Skegness to Majorca. We delve into indie music scenes through various bands that Corey was a part of as well as a journey into his varied film taste, from Friday the 13th being the first horror film he watched in full all the way to Everything Everywhere All at Once changing his life and becoming his favourite film of all time upon seeing it at the cinema. Amongst all of this is a dark side, so much so to the point that Corey feels as though he's living through his own horror film as he faces the pressures of coming out of the closet, being in the middle of the many problems of his family, and facing bullies in various areas of life as well as the inescapable bully that is his own mind.
This is a book that has been written as a way of therapy, a way of finding humour in bad situations whilst acknowledging how serious everything is that he has been through over the years, and it's a way of reaching out to people who have been through similar weird, horrific, and difficult times as a helping hand of sorts, a bit of reassurance if you will, reassurance that you're not alone and that someone else has been through this and has lived to tell the tale.

Ben Moss has a good day job with the Public Information Office of Colby County. However, at night he's a successful -- if secret -- writer of straight romance novels. Ben has also written a "serious" novel about a man who is, like himself, gay. Unlike his other books, no one will publish it.
Ben's cheating ex is sorry and wants to get back together. Ben's new boss at work is sexy and Ben is very attracted to the man. Then there's his neighbor, Toby Tabber. Toby is smaller than Ben, younger than Ben, and it'll never work out between them. Or will it?
Can Ben find romance just like his characters, or will love remain strictly within the pages of his novels?

When their paths collide, Hutch is intrigued by the brave young man who doesn't realize how strong he is. Archie is infatuated with the older man but knows he can't possibly hold the attention of someone so capable and put together. Honestly, he wouldn't even know where to begin.

Barefoot strangers crashing a beloved cat's funeral leads to horrified pearl clutching, wacky adventures, and blossoming friendships in Megan Okonsky's hilariously irreverent debut.

Tombstone, Texas, has never seen anything like the barefoot travelers who barrel in one afternoon, looking like they just stepped out of the seventies. They appear right in the middle of Pinky Elizabeth Swear's eulogy for her beloved rescue cat, Sweet Potato Grace (may she rest in eternal peace and abundance of goat cheese). To be honest, Pinky is relieved at the interruption. She'd planned to use the second half of her eulogy to come out of the closet. Now, she doesn't have to.

Are the newcomers a circus troupe? Revolutionaries? A sinister cult? While the town grows suspicious and rumor mills churn, Pinky finds herself drawn to the charisma of the barefoot strangers. Perhaps, she starts to think, the wrath of Tombstone is a thing worth risking in order to be true to oneself.
