Summary

After a major accident leaves her in a dire financial situation, Maxine Forrest returns to live in her childhood home. The empty husk holds only the memories of her father’s abuse and her mother’s reticence to leave him: her parents are nowhere to be found. The cocoon of her past remains unchanged, yet wrapped in the ghostly remnants of her mother’s whispered insistence that things could change. Escaping the sins of her parents should be easy enough for Max, but those sins are intrinsic to her genetic make-up, so escape is impossible—succumbing, and metamorphosis, are inevitable.

In The Fall of the House of Usher, Edgar Allan Poe masterfully weaves a gothic tale of psychological horror and supernatural dread. The story follows an unnamed narrator who visits the decaying mansion of his childhood friend, Roderick Usher. As the story unfolds, the narrator uncovers the deep mental and physical decay of the Usher family, mirrored by the eerie and crumbling house itself. As tensions rise, the line between reality and madness blurs, leading to a terrifying and tragic conclusion.
Narrated by Rob Sogomonian, this audiobook captures the atmospheric gloom, suspense, and underlying horror of Poe's classic tale, bringing the haunted world of Usher to life in a chilling performance.
Perfect for fans of gothic literature, horror, and classic tales of the macabre, The Fall of the House of Usher remains one of Poe's most iconic and unsettling works.

Sometimes I'd rather shield my eyes than see darkness in light.
It was my senior year at Hawthorne University when everything fell apart. I mean, all my witch friends got along fine—sort of. But I was nervous about my love life. I just had to get into Hawthorne's graduate program, because my boyfriend was going to be a professor. I didn't want to lose him. I didn't want to lose anyone.
And things got weirder. A witch was threatened with sacrificial murder. Another witch spent all day murmuring to herself, in the center of a circle of candles, on a pentagram she painted in her dorm room. It all pointed to the wicked witch of the Abaddon coven. If I was right, it might just take a full-fledged witch showdown to stop her.
So? Bring it on. What did I have to lose? Just everyone I love. And maybe my soul.
The Hawthorne Witch is Book 3 in the Hawthorne University Witch Series. The books in this series are complete self-contained novels not ending in cliffhangers. Some spoilers cannot be avoided, but this is a stand-alone novel that can be enjoyed without reading the other books in the series.
Content warning: The Hawthorne Witch is a new adult college paranormal romance containing profanity, sexual scenes, adult situations, and, of course, witchcraft.
