Sinopse

Before the civilized era, there was a gigantic need to have a huge pair of limbs to survive the monstrosity of wild living. Now that we have learned not only how to use the tools around us to hunt meat, harvest plants, and recreate our habitat, but also to group ourselves to better help each other. The requirements of survival are also recalibrated.

In order to construct a responsible, united society we must begin with the smallest possible unit of a community - a romantic partnership. This is a relationship where the decisions of one member impacts the entire group (albeit a group of two). We then move to a small family after the addition of offspring, and then the scale of the group undergoes constant growth. Since our societal problem can be sourced from the gradual performance of humanity acting in bad faith and unreasonable acts, and from the parents in those dysfunctional families who mold their child's mind towards undesirable behaviors, we can then start minimizing its effects with endeavors that lead to the opposite. As couples, we are the least form of the society—the small known world in the eyes of our child. Being with our partners is the most ideal training ground for practicing unity, teamwork, and leadership.

The Art of War in a Relationship is about educating each of us using a responsible parent’s mindset as the focal point. This journey starts with the ideal traits of a healthy relationship and reaches its peak in proper family leadership.

We are looking forward to having a responsible society. This means that we are looking forward to having a better generation. To have many responsible children raised by their responsible parents. To have a responsible couple handling their relationship as their training ground to become the most ideal parent they could be. When these couples become parents, they will be the examples themselves for their children who will in no time become the influential members of their own communities.

Before the birth of education, we only needed to reproduce to preserve the human race. Today, we also need to reproduce responsibly. Welcome to The Art of War in a Relationship.

“A fascinating exploration of the mysteries ignited by DNA genealogy testing—from the intensely personal and concrete to the existential and unsolvable.” —Tana French, New York Times–bestselling author

You swab your cheek or spit in a vial, then send it away to a lab somewhere. Weeks later you get a report that might tell you where your ancestors came from or if you carry certain genetic risks. Or, the report could reveal a long-buried family secret that upends your entire sense of identity. Soon a lark becomes an obsession, a relentless drive to find answers to questions at the core of your being, like “Who am I?” and “Where did I come from?” Welcome to the age of home genetic testing.

In The Lost Family, journalist Libby Copeland investigates what happens when we embark on a vast social experiment with little understanding of the ramifications. She explores the culture of genealogy buffs, the science of DNA, and the business of companies like Ancestry and 23andMe, all while tracing the story of one woman, her unusual results, and a relentless methodical drive for answers that becomes a thoroughly modern genetic detective story. Gripping and masterfully told, The Lost Family is a spectacular book on a big, timely subject.

“An urgently necessary, powerful book that addresses one of the most complex social and bioethical issues of our time.” —Dani Shapiro, New York Times–bestselling author

Introduction to the Bills of Exchange Act 1882 – Audiobook Edition
Welcome to a journey into one of the most quietly powerful pieces of legislation in British legal history — the Bills of Exchange Act 1882. This audiobook is your guide through the framework that has long governed how debt, credit, and financial promises are handled not just in the UK, but across much of the common law world.
At first glance, this Act may seem dry or technical. But look closer, and you’ll discover a legal structure that underpins everyday financial life — from business transactions and commercial lending, to promissory notes and even that cheque in your drawer. It’s a fascinating intersection of commerce, trust, and enforceable obligation.
What makes this Act remarkable is its simplicity and longevity. Drafted in Victorian Britain, it remains in force today — a living law that still impacts how money moves, contracts are formed, and obligations are honoured. With a simple signature on a piece of paper, individuals and businesses can create legally binding promises worth thousands — even millions — of pounds.
This audiobook brings the Act to life. Whether you're a law student, business professional, or someone exploring the deeper mechanisms of debt, commerce, or sovereignty, this edition will guide you through the full text — line by line — while offering plain-English explanations and insights along the way.
The Bills of Exchange Act 1882 isn’t just a relic of the past. It’s a key to understanding the present. And once you understand it, you’ll never look at a signed promise the same way again.

The way we treat money is a mirror reflection of how we treat ourselves.
We give so much of our power away to the feelings inspired by money and our relationship with it. It’s time to redirect that power… to move from feeling disempowered to empowered… from not good enough to more than good enough… from unworthy to deserving.
We need to look at money through a trauma-informed lens. We need to distil the little traumas and the big traumas from our unconscious mind, from our belief systems, in order to change our perception of money to one of empowerment.
This book will help you do that.
It’s not about the money: 3 Steps to Becoming A Wealthy Woman guides us through the journey from Financial Insecurity to Financial Freedom through the lens of financial trauma and the emotions of money.
Catherine Morgan shares stories, inspiring thoughts, practical steps and powerful exercises, distilled through the lens of financial past, financial present and financial future in order to equip you to manage your money, mind and the behaviours that have prevented you from having more money, keeping hold of it and growing it.

A compendium of quotes and riffs by P.J. O'Rourke on subjects ranging from government to fishing to apps, to be published on what would have been his seventy-fifth birthday.

When The Penguin Dictionary of Modern Humorous Quotations was published in 1994, P. J. O'Rourke had more entries than any living writer. And he kept writing funny stuff for another twenty-eight years. Now, for the first time, the best material is collected in one volume. Edited by Terry McDonell, The Funny Stuff is arranged in six sections, organized by subject in alphabetical order from Agriculture to Xenophobia. From his earliest days at the National Lampoon in the 1970s, through his classic reporting for Rolling Stone in the '80s and '90s to his post-Trump, pandemic, new media observations of recent years, P. J. produced incisive, amusing copy. Not only did P. J. write memorable one-liners, he also meticulously constructed riffs that are still being quoted years later. His prose has the electric verbal energy of Tom Wolfe or Hunter Thompson, but P. J. is more flat out funny. And through it all comes his clear-eyed take on politics, economics, human nature—and fun. The Funny Stuff is a book for P. J. fans to devour but also a book that will bring new audiences and stand as testament to one of the truly original American writers of the last fifty years.
