Fournier d'Albe presents a thought-provoking exploration of futuristic concepts through a philosophical lens, interweaving scientific inquiry and speculative thought. The narrative adopts a clear and reflective literary style that invites readers to ponder the implications of technological advances and social changes. Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century intellectual exploration, Fournier d'Albe positions the work within emerging dialogues about science and society, making it a pivotal contribution to the genre of speculative literature. E. E. Fournier d'Albe, a noted physicist and writer, drew upon his extensive scientific background and keen interest in social progress to craft this illuminating text. His experiences in academia and research, combined with a passion for philosophical discourse, informed his exploration of future possibilities, allowing him to address crucial themes of human evolution and ethical considerations. This fusion of science and philosophy illustrates his commitment to understanding the intersection of technology and human experience. Beyond Good and Evil confirmed Nietzsche's position as the towering European philosopher of his age. The work dramatically rejects the tradition of Western thought with its notions of truth and God, good and evil. Nietzsche demonstrates that the Christian world is steeped in a false piety and infected with a 'slave morality'. With wit and energy, he turns from this critique to a philosophy that celebrates the present and demands that the individual imposes their own 'will to power' upon the world.

This volume collects lively tales of aerial combat from Royal Air Force pilots who flew Typhoon fighters into the frontlines of WWII. The Typhoon fighter played a pivotal role in Allied victories from D-Day to the Battle of the Bulge and the final battle in Germany. Through original interviews with RAF veterans, Norman Franks explores what it was really like to fly Britain’s legendary, rocket-firing fighters.  Typhoon Attack shares stories of flying over Holland or France at low level, seeking out hostile aircraft or targets on the ground; rolling over at twelve-thousand feet, then upside down; attacking trains, ships, flak posts, tanks, and more; not to mention the mind-numbing experience of crash-landing a shot-up Tiffy.

Gen. David McMurtrie Gregg (1833–1917) was one of the ablest and most successful commanders of cavalry in any Civil War army. Pennsylvania-born, West Point–educated, and deeply experienced in cavalry operations prior to the conflict, his career personified that of the typical cavalry officer in the mid-nineteenth-century American army. Gregg achieved distinction on many battlefields, ultimately gaining the rank of brevet major general as leader of the Second Division, Cavalry Corps, Army of the Potomac.

The highlight of his service occurred on July 3, 1863, the climactic third day at Gettysburg, when he led his own command as well as the brigade of Brig. Gen. George Armstrong Custer in repulsing an attempt by thousands of Confederate cavalries under the legendary J. E. B. Stuart in attacking the right flank and rear of the Union Army while Pickett's charge struck its front and center.

Historians credit Gregg with helping preserve the security of his army at a critical point, making Union victory inevitable. Unlike glory-hunters such as Custer and Stuart, Gregg was a quietly competent veteran who never promoted himself or sought personal recognition for his service. Rarely has a military commander of such distinction been denied a biographer's tribute. Gregg's time is long overdue.
