Sinopse

Whoever said nature is still has not borne witness to the migration of the seasons.

In this lyrical enquiry, Dalia Al-Dujaili considers what it means to belong in your land. She traces the rich heritage of the earth beneath our feet and the wildlife that call it home – from the oak tree and date palm to fairytale creatures, such as dragons, unicorns and the ancient Lamassu. Weaving together Arab and Islamic mythology with the English and Christian pastoral, Al-Dujaili unmasks the communal lush, familiar and, at times, dark places we share.

A love song to Britain, Iraq and the body of earth we hold in common, Babylon, Albion is a compelling re-imagining of what it means to be native.

Disclaimer: This is NOT the Official Book; This is a Summary & it DOES NOT Accompany the Official Book!
In our summary book "Easy Money" by Ben McKenzie, known for his roles in The O.C. and Gotham, describes his entry into the world of cryptocurrency. Despite his economics degree, McKenzie initially found himself attracted to the allure of decentralization, potential societal improvement, and the fear of missing out on a lucrative opportunity.
However, as he scratched beneath the surface, he began to question the validity and sustainability of cryptocurrency, prompting the question, "Is this all a total scam?" In a bid to answer this question, McKenzie and Silverman embark on an enlightening investigation into the world of cryptocurrency.
"Easy Money" weaves together various narratives including stories of regular traders and victims, vibrant crypto evangelists, Hollywood’s most steadfast believers, whistleblowers against crypto, and government agents striving to find solutions at the brink of a major crash.
This summary book provides an up-close view of what the authors argue is a reckless convergence of irresponsibility and criminal fraud, potentially far more devastating than Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme or the 2008 housing bubble. This riveting narrative serves as a stark warning and an eye-opening account for anyone enticed by the promises of cryptocurrency.

Travelling is something most of us do perfectly well. It often involves a stroll in the park or sojourn in the sun.
Dominic Ryan, for reasons unfamiliar with common sense, is more likely to find himself facing down charging hippos on the Zambezi or tracking angry Namibian cheetahs in a vintage aeroplane.
There is little in the way of logic in his backpack as he tumbles into a war zone in Ukraine or tries to save a Malaysian rainforest by chasing bats.
Is The Back of Beyond a memoir, travelogue or cry for help? It’s all of the above and by turns fascinating and funny, thrilling and thoughtful.
As a wise genie probably once said, wandering and wondering are the same worthy pursuit: it’s just one has an ‘ah!’ and the other an ‘oh!’.
If you dare venture to The Back of Beyond, gird your khaki-clad loins for an abundance of both . . . and even the occasional ‘ooh’!

Gavin at War - The World War II...

“Gavin at War provides a lively self-portrait. His diary is especially notable for its skeptical assessments of his comrades and his Army.” — The New York TimesWinner, 2022 Army Historical Foundation Distinguished Writing Awards, Journals, Memoirs, and Letters"General Gavin was a very brave man who had great faith in his men. The battle or the weather never stopped him from going to check the troops. He would go in the rain or snow. If the battle was severe, he would crawl from foxhole to foxhole to talk to his men to let them know he was with them. Words cannot explain the love and pride I had for General Gavin."—Walter Woods, World War II aide to General Gavin Lieutenant General James Gavin, commander of the 82nd Airborne Division during WWII, is one of the best-known figures of the war. Beginning as the commander of the 505th Parachute Combat Team that spearheaded the American assault on Sicily in July 1943, Gavin advanced to division command and finally command of US forces in Berlin. Throughout this time he kept a wartime diary that starts in April 1943, as the unit was preparing to go to northern Africa, and continues through to his final entry on 1 September 1945 during the occupation of Berlin. During the war years, Gavin came into close contact with virtually all the leading airborne commanders and many others who would advance to the top levels of Army leadership. His diary includes observations on fellow military and political leaders such as General Dwight Eisenhower and the British Field Marshal Montgomery, army operations, and the general's personal life. Gavin was an officer who led by example: on four combat jumps—into Sicily, at Salerno, then Normandy and the Netherlands—he was the first man out the door. Two Distinguished Service Crosses, two Silver Stars, and the Purple Heart rewarded his service. For decades, Gavin kept the existence of the journal a secret; the general's family discovered it among his belongings after his death. Editor Lewis "Bob" Sorley has worked closely with the Gavin family and the Army Heritage Center to prepare the diary for publication. His edited and annotated version includes a prologue and epilogue to frame the entries within the wider scope of the general's life.
