Summary

The move to a castle is both daunting and exhilarating. Damn sure he has bitten of more than he can handle, Terk asks Charles for help. In turn, Charles brings in an old friend to get the team installed and to get the castle renovated and organized. Going into private business never looked so good or so hard. But, with Levi and Ice joining in the fun, even Bullard helping out, the renovations are in Emmaline’s capable hands, and all is well.
Or is it? When Jonas calls to say there’s a problem, and it’s heading their way, Terk knows the priority is safety and security. But what does that look like with a large group of energy workers? There’s also another side effect of so much energy all in one place—something no one thought about—and something that’s way too late to stop …

At the tender age of twenty-one, Pico's world is one of linguistic puzzles and academic pursuits. A student at the University of Copenhagen, she is thrilled to get a summer job working for enigmatic antique dealer Antonio Bartram. When Antonio suddenly disappears leaving behind nothing but a series of cryptic messages, Pico decides to use her linguistic prowess to decode the clues – with fateful consequences.

As Pico investigates, she uncovers a labyrinthine plot that stretches back decades to the theft of a priceless Caravaggio from a church in Sicily. Caught in the crosshairs of an obsessive art collector, a police murder investigation and a Mafia-sanctioned vendetta, her quest takes her across Europe: from the shadows behind the veneer of Copenhagen's Nordic serenity, down the sun-kissed streets of the Italian Riviera, and even along the secretive corridors of the Vatican.

As she fights to uncover the truth and witnesses the lengths one will go to protect the secrets of the past, Pico confronts the moral quandaries that emerge when the pursuit of art eclipses the bounds of right and wrong.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Set in the 1850s, Loaded for Justice is a tale of former outlaws, lawmen, and families entangled in a complex web of betrayal, redemption, and the relentless pursuit of justice in a volatile Western backdrop. The narrative delves into the dichotomy of loyalty and duty, the profound impact of past actions on present relationships, and the constant struggle for peace amidst the ever-present threat of violence.
Unlike the damsels in distress that clutter history books, Martha Swanson refused to be confined by society's expectations. She possessed a sharp mind, a fierce spirit, and a surprising talent with a six-shooter – a rare combination for a woman in her time. Fueled by ambition and a thirst for knowledge, she yearned to carve her own path in a world designed to keep women on the sidelines. Societal constraints weren't her only hurdles.
After a decade away, Randall Pruitt craved the adrenaline rush of robbing stagecoaches. But his once-loyal gang had scattered, leaving him a solitary shadow of his former self. He began piecing together a new crew, his resolve fueled by a twisted sense of obligation. "Family takes care of family," he'd mutter. This mantra rang hollow considering his strained relationships with his brother Joseph, nephew Thomas, and Alexander.
Martha and Randall aren’t alone in this saga. Sheriff Joseph Pruitt, bound by duty yet haunted by the past, wrestles with his loyalties. Thomas, yearning for a normal life, finds himself entangled in a family legacy of violence. Ride into Loaded for Justice, the first book in the Dark Sheriff series, and discover a world where justice is a loaded gun and family ties can bind or betray.
