In an ironic twist of fate, past and present cross swords. USS Constitution, “Old Ironsides,” must foil a world-wide jihadist plot by the descendants her historic foes, the Barbary Coast pirates in this multiple-award-winning, swashbuckling and cinematically explosive blend of action, history, romance, humor and the supernatural.Following is the full review by Charla White, Audiobookreviewer.com."Action-Packed & Vividly Realistic!""Moses Redding, a Navy man known for his decisive actions was reassigned to the USS Constitution for a goodwill tour of the Mediterranean because of this earlier move disobeying orders. This decision places him in an ideal setting with little chance of sparking an international incident. In an unexpected turn of events, terrorists underestimated the military’s ability to implement, be resourceful, and use antiquated weaponry! This miscalculation leads to an epic battle between Moses and the terrorists.""The author, David Tunno, crafts an exciting tale, interwoven with authentic historical details and military maneuvers. The action-packed narrative achieves realism through well-crafted dialogue and vivid descriptions. Tunno also expertly crafts vivid characters and skillfully executes plot twists.""As the narrator, he delivers an ardent performance, infusing the story with depth of emotion, excitement, and subtle nuances only the author can provide. What if the pain of grief could truly be healed? What if love never dies?
For years, clinical psychologist Dr. Tom Nehmy struggled to help his grieving clients. Traditional therapy could offer support—but not the profound healing they truly needed. That changed when he discovered Induced After-Death Communication (IADC) Therapy, a groundbreaking technique that not only alleviates deep sadness but also facilitates extraordinary reconnections with the deceased.
In Inspired Life, Beautiful Death, Dr. Nehmy embarks on a deeply personal and scientific journey—one that bridges psychology, grief therapy, and the spiritual dimensions of life after death. Through vivid case studies and cutting-edge research, he reveals how IADC Therapy is transforming lives. Yet, his most powerful insights come from his own experiences—revelations that challenge everything we assume about death, consciousness, and the nature of existence.
This book is not just about grief— it’s about how to live. Drawing from the wisdom of those who have glimpsed the afterlife and reflecting on his own vulnerability, Dr. Nehmy explores what truly matters, offering practical guidance on cultivating love, spiritual awareness, and finding meaning in our greatest struggles. All the while he assures us our loved ones never truly leave us, we can heal from loss in ways once thought impossible, and our deepest fear—the fear of death—is the greatest illusion of all.
Whether you are navigating your own loss, seeking deeper meaning, or simply curious about what lies beyond, this book will challenge your beliefs, move your heart, and leave you with an unshakeable sense of hope.

    Banking on Slavery - Financing...

A sobering excavation of how deeply nineteenth-century American banks were entwined with the institution of slavery.

It’s now widely understood that the fullest expression of nineteenth-century American capitalism was found in the structures of chattel slavery. It’s also understood that almost every other institution and aspect of life then was at least entangled with—and often profited from—slavery’s perpetuation. Yet as Sharon Ann Murphy shows in her powerful and unprecedented book, the centrality of enslaved labor to banking in the antebellum United States is far greater than previously thought.

Banking on Slavery sheds light on precisely how the financial relationships between banks and slaveholders worked across the nineteenth-century South. Murphy argues that the rapid spread of slavery in the South during the 1820s and ’30s depended significantly upon southern banks’ willingness to financialize enslaved lives, with the use of enslaved individuals as loan collateral proving central to these financial relationships. She makes clear how southern banks were ready—and, in some cases, even eager—to alter time-honored banking practices to meet the needs of slaveholders. In the end, many of these banks sacrificed themselves in their efforts to stabilize the slave economy. Murphy also details how banks and slaveholders transformed enslaved lives from physical bodies into abstract capital assets. Her book provides an essential examination of how our nation’s financial history is more intimately intertwined with the dehumanizing institution of slavery than scholars have previously thought.
