The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes is the final set of twelve (out of a total of fifty-six) Sherlock Holmes short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle first published in the Strand Magazine between October 1921 and April 1927.
The first British edition and the first American edition of the collection were both published in June 1927. However, they had slightly different titles. The title of the British collection was The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (hyphenated "Case-Book"), whereas the title of the American edition was The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes ("Case Book" as two words). Further confusing the issue of the title, some later publishers released the collection under the title The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes ("Casebook" as a single word).

In ‘A Game of Shadows,’ David R. Canning delivers a psychological thriller that pulls readers into a dangerous contest of skill, deception, and survival. Three professional hitmen—Mark, Alistair, and Vincent—are drawn into a deadly competition where the prize is life itself, and the cost of failure is certain death. When Colleen Masters’s father, a powerful figure in the arms trade, is assassinated, her grief turns to vengeance. Determined to uncover the truth, she enlists Lloyd, her father’s trusted caretaker, to help orchestrate a ruthless game. Each assassin receives the same contract: eliminate the other two for a staggering reward. What begins as a straightforward mission quickly becomes a labyrinth of betrayal, shifting alliances, and hidden agendas. Mark relies on his military instincts, haunted by past traumas. Alistair approaches the game with precision and control, calculating every move. Vincent thrives on chaos, a volatile presence who bends the rules to his will. As the hunters become the hunted, each man must decide whom to trust and how far to go in order to survive. Set against a backdrop of power, secrecy, and personal vendettas, ‘A Game of Shadows’ is a taut exploration of revenge and the human need for control in a world built on lies. Every move counts, and in this game, shadows conceal more than they reveal.

    A Dickens of a Christmas turns deadly . . .

As the holiday season lights up Seattle's famed Pike Place Market, Pepper Reece's beloved Spice Shop is brimming with cinnamon, nutmeg, and shoppers eager to stuff their stockings. Add to the mix a tasty staff competition—a peppermint bark-off—along with Victorian costumes for this year's Dickensian Christmas theme, and Pepper almost forgets to be nervous about meeting her fisherman boyfriend's brother for the first time.

But when a young woman working in her friend Vinny's wine shop is brutally assaulted, costumed revelers and holiday cheer are the last things on Pepper's mind. Who would want to hurt Beth? Or were they looking for Vinny instead?

As the secrets of the market come to light, long-held grudges, family ties, and hidden plans only further obscure the truth. Is it a ghost of the past rattling its chains, or a contemporary Scrooge with more earthly motives? As Pepper chases down a killer, someone is chasing her, and in the end, the storied market itself may hold the final, deadly clue.
