Summary

Developers and release engineers understand the high stakes of building, packaging, and deploying code efficiently. Ensuring that your code is fast, secure, and functionally correct can be a time-consuming and complex task. GitLab CI/CD pipelines simplify these tasks, enabling automation and seamless deployment.Automating DevOps with GitLab CI/CD Pipelines starts with the fundamentals of Git and GitLab, guiding you through committing and reviewing code. You'll learn how to set up GitLab Runners to execute and autoscale CI/CD pipelines, configure pipelines for different stages of the software development lifecycle, and analyze pipeline results in GitLab. As you progress, you'll gain expertise in deploying code across environments, integrating GitLab with Kubernetes and Terraform, triggering pipelines, and improving pipeline performance. This book also includes troubleshooting techniques, best practices, real-world use cases, and self-assessments to reinforce key CI/CD concepts and help you prepare for GitLab-related interviews and certifications.By the end of this book, you'll have the skills to build and automate CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, streamline DevOps workflows, and deploy high-quality, secure code with confidence.

What if the deepest truths of the universe were not discovered in laboratories—but revealed thousands of years ago?
In Shri Krishna and Quantum Consciousness, Dr Bhaskar Bora presents a bold and intellectually rigorous exploration of reality at the intersection of ancient Hindu philosophy and modern quantum science.
Drawing from the Bhagavad Gita, Vedanta, and yogic philosophy, this book examines how the teachings of Shri Krishna resonate with cutting-edge concepts in physics, including:
    • Quantum entanglement and non-local consciousness
    • The observer effect and the nature of awareness
    • Superposition, duality, and the illusion of reality (Maya)
    • Time, causality, and cyclical existence
    • The unified field and the concept of Brahman
Rather than forcing a comparison, this work builds a thoughtful dialogue between two powerful systems of understanding—one ancient, one modern—both pointing toward a deeper, unified truth.
At the centre of this exploration is Shri Krishna—not merely as a religious figure, but as a profound model of cosmic intelligence, consciousness, and the ultimate observer.
    This book is designed for:
    • Readers of Hindu philosophy and Vedanta
    • Students of quantum physics and metaphysics
    • Seekers exploring consciousness and reality
    • Thinkers interested in science–spirituality dialogue
This is not a book of easy answers.
It is an invitation to question everything you think you know about reality.
    Because perhaps—
the universe is not made of matter,
    but of consciousness itself.

Most people believe that they were either benefited or at least not harmed by being brought into existence. Thus, if they ever do reflect on whether they should bring others into existence—rather than having children without even thinking about whether they should—they presume that they do them no harm. Better Never to Have Been challenges these assumptions. David Benatar argues that coming into existence is always a serious harm. Those who never exist cannot be deprived. However, by coming into existence one does suffer quite serious harms that could not have befallen one had one not come into existence. Drawing on the relevant psychological literature, the author shows that there are a number of well-documented features of human psychology that explain why people systematically overestimate the quality of their lives and why they are thus resistant to the suggestion that they were seriously harmed by being brought into existence. The author then argues for the "anti-natal" view—that it is always wrong to have children—and he shows that combining the anti-natal view with common pro-choice views about fetal moral status yield a "pro-death" view about abortion. Although counter-intuitive for many, that implication is defended, not least by showing that it solves many conundrums of moral theory about population.

For award-winning natural history writer David B. Williams, to be connected to a place you need to pause and look deeply at it. Wild in Seattle is Williams's delightful journey of discovery in this city where not only is nature all around, it's also written in the stones of the urban landscape. Explore the geologic history of glaciers, tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcanoes as well as the ways humans shape the Seattle topography. From backyards to downtown, watch for coyotes, crows, seals, otters, owls, and so much more wildlife who also call the region home. Look up at the buildings to find terra cotta eagles, stone that traveled over millions of years from Asia to the San Juan Islands, and clues to the horses who used to power the city's transportation network. Wrap your arms around a giant Douglas-fir, appreciate the unsung yet remarkable skunk cabbage, stop and listen to the spring chorus of frogs.
