Sinopse

Arachne Press has long been a champion of LGBTQ+ writers, but we've never before published an anthology of LGBTQ+ poetry. These are joyful poems that celebrate all that is best about our community/ies and lives. This is not an 'explain it to the straights' book, this is for us. LGBTQ+ readers can open this book at random and find a moment of poetic queer joy for themselves, however big or small.

A must-have book for all parents, this collection of tender, funny, radically honest poems about parenthood, based on a series of popular Instagram posts, is the perfect baby shower or Mother’s Day gift.
Modern parenthood can feel indescribable. This poignant collection of poetry and art chronicles the ups and downs of a rollercoaster ride that every parent will recognize. Capturing the joys and frustrations that come with each fleetingly precious (or interminable) stage of development, Poems of Parenting will be a balm to the soul of weary parents.
From fresh baby snuggles to terrible tantrums, and everything in-between, artist Loryn Brantz has touched on something unique and universal in her debut poetry collection based on her popular Instagram series. Poems of Parenting is the perfect companion on any parent’s journey through the uncertain terrain of raising cherished children in extraordinary times.

Featuring the work of Black women poets from Botswana to Brazil, in this collection, we encounter ancestors who made love, just for the sake of love, and women who die with each orgasm while attempting to mark the extent of their own humanities.

This is for the nuns, the singers, the clowns, the diviners and the conjurers who reject the constant attempt to clean up history. The wildly imperfect women of slick braids, shiny skin and succulent lips, building new homes from clouds for future legions.

Here congregate the women, womxn and womyn who do not believe in tough love that disguises hurt just to prove a point. They dance with the dead with exquisite feet, cheekbones high, reflecting their mothers' smiles.

Because no one claps for martyrs, these dirty/pretty women learn to walk cities like they own them, choosing the battles of their hearts.

If this collection teaches anything, it is that love is always messy, that our sacrament requires wet wipes and that we are just flesh and bone honing practice.

I Remember is a book of poetry inspired while traveling, spending time in nature and from my life's experiences. As a multiracial man in America, I feel I was given the opportunity to experience discrimination and prejudice from people of all walks of life. To learn I needed to love to accept myself first so I can witness firsthand society's most crucial issues of division and polarity. From the systemic illusion of separation from nature and humankind as a whole, due to the fact that most of us have yet to remember who we really are. Although the media is persistently promoting fear and division. The intention of this book is to share a sense of awareness of who we are beyond the body while inspiring the reader to love and have compassion for themselves and others at a greater capacity. Regardless of what one may have learned from their parents, culture, media, movies etc. I Remember is resurfacing to remind the masses we are all equal expressions of the Divine and now have a role to play in co-creating “The More Beautiful World our Hearts Know is Possible.”

'I should've seen him. Felt him. Walking across the sand. His antlers, twisting, reaching up to the moon. But the Mariner didn't come. The Mariner didn't come.'
Mark and Tiny go for walks along the beach at Seaton Carew, County Durham. Their dad is dying, and their town is crumbling. Family rifts and political divides try to pull them apart, and a figure made of driftwood stalks the shore at night.
Tim Foley's Driftwood is an intoxicating and mystical play about love, belonging and the tides within us. It was premiered in 2023 by Pentabus and ThickSkin on a tour of the UK, co-directed by Neil Bettles and Elle While.
