"You're Nellie Westrop and don't you forget it.
We'll see each other one day, but until we do, take good care of yourself.
    Live a good life.
    Now go, my love."
From the author of Silver Darlings comes LK Wilde's captivating portrayal of the life of Queenie Read.
Heart warming and breaking in equal measure, Queenie of Norwich is perfect for fans of The Foundling, Where the Crawdads Sing, and The Smallest Man.
People say you get one life, but I've lived three.
I was born Ellen Hardy in 1900, dragged up in Queen Caroline's Yard, Norwich.
There was nothing royal about our yard, and Mum was no queen.
At six years old Mum sold me. I became Nellie Westrop, roaming the country in a showman's wagon, learning the art of the fair.
And I've been the infamous Queenie of Norwich, moving up in the world by any means, legal or not.
I've been heart broken, abandoned, bought and sold, but I've never, ever given up.
After all, it's not where you start that's important, but where you end up.
Based on a true story, Queenie of Norwich is the compelling tale of one remarkable girl's journey to womanhood.
Spanning the first half of the 20th century, Queenie's story is one of heartbreak and triumph, love and loss and the power of family.
It is a story of redemption, and how, with grit and determination, anything is possible.

William Benet Sterling and his best friend Jacob (Jake) Brown, two Kansas farm boys, realize their dream of riding with the famed seventh cavalry joining the unit at Fort Abraham Lincoln. The two teenagers gallop headlong into battle with Major Reno and A company as they mount a breath-taking charge against the Sioux and Cheyenne village along the river. They live the terror of being forced back into a small grove of cottonwood trees helplessly watching wounded friends being butchered and brutalized. As the fighting builds to an impossible pitch, it becomes clear that the only way out of this killing box is to charge into the enemy and race for better cover. Three companies of cavalry blast out of flimsy cover and into the open valley. The Indians realize the advantage and turn the breakout into a buffalo chase. Troopers endure a running gun battle through the valley, across the Little Bighorn River, and up a coulee to a flat, but defensible portion of the rolling bluffs.
Over the next 36 hours the boys fight for their lives, and the lives of those around them as Indians occupy the heights. Death stalks every second they stay on that hill. When it becomes clear men are going to start dying of thirst they volunteer to be part of a water party that must sneak back down the coulee, dart across 300 yards of open ground that is defended by the enemy, fill canteens, and make it back up hill safely.
This book took two years to research and write in order to provide the most accurate account of all the battles in the Little Bighorn Valley. Aside from the two main characters every player in the story is accurate, including names, backgrounds, wounds, and participation in the battle. All operations in that battle have been included and written in detail.

The Diary of a Nobody is an English comic novel written by the brothers George and Weedon Grossmith, with illustrations by the latter. It originated as an intermittent serial in Punch magazine in 1888–89 and first appeared in book form, with extended text and added illustrations, in 1892. The Diary records the daily events in the lives of a London clerk, Charles Pooter, his wife Carrie, his son William Lupin, and numerous friends and acquaintances over a period of 15 months.

Before their collaboration on the Diary, the brothers each pursued successful careers on the stage. George originated nine of the principal comedian roles in the Gilbert and Sullivan operas over 12 years from 1877 to 1889. He also established a national reputation as a piano sketch entertainer and wrote a large number of songs and comic pieces. Before embarking on his stage career, Weedon had worked as an artist and illustrator. The Diary was the brothers' only mature collaboration. Most of its humor derives from Charles Pooter's unconscious and unwarranted sense of his own importance, and the frequency with which this delusion is punctured by gaffes and minor social humiliations. In an era of rising expectations within the lowermiddle classes, the daily routines and modest ambitions described in the Diary were instantly recognized by its contemporary readers and provided later generations with a glimpse of the past that it became fashionable to imitate

The thundering new adventure starring traveling gunslinger John Holt, a lawman-for-hire on a mission to serve justice across the untamed Colorado territories—one bullet at a time.

One of the deadliest, crime-infested towns in Colorado Territory, Devil's Gulch needed more than a sheriff. They needed a gunslinger. So they pinned a badge on hardcase lawman John Holt. And the rest is history.

As the town's new sheriff, John Holt achieved the impossible: He drove the devil out of Devil's Gulch. Corrupt, cutthroat rancher Joe Mullen—who ruled the land with an iron fist—is finally behind bars, thanks to Sheriff Holt. But the tables are turned when Mullen manages to overturn his prison wagon and make his escape—with an army of prisoners, outlaws, and lowlifes to do his bidding.

It doesn't take long for the streets of Devil's Gulch to run red with blood. Again. Or for Holt to be marked for death. Again. But this time, the sheriff's up against more than a hundred men—all of them gunning for him—and his only allies are an all-too-young deputy, an all-too-angry farmer, and a wayward wagon cook. With odds this bad, Holt is sure of only one thing: when you shoot at the devil, it's best not to miss.
