Summary

In "Darwinism stated by Darwin himself," Charles Darwin articulates the foundational concepts of his groundbreaking theory of evolution, emphasizing natural selection as the primary mechanism of gradual species change. The book is marked by a meticulous literary style that blends scientific rigor with accessible language, allowing both scholars and lay readers to engage with profound ideas. Contextually, this work emerges during the late 19th century, a period rife with scientific exploration and intellectual upheaval, marking a shift in understanding life sciences and challenging established beliefs about creation and species origin. Charles Darwin, an esteemed naturalist and biologist, meticulously observed diverse biological phenomena during his extensive voyages, most notably on the HMS Beagle. His exposure to various ecosystems and species diversity provided the impetus for formulating his theories on evolution. The synthesis of his empirical observations and introspective analysis culminated in this work, aiming to convey complex ideologies with clarity and precision. I wholeheartedly recommend "Darwinism stated by Darwin himself" to readers interested in the intersections of science, philosophy, and history. This essential text not only elucidates the principles of evolution but also sparks a deeper understanding of humanity's place within the natural world, making it a pivotal addition to any thoughtful reader's library.

    Scabies - A Comprehensive Guide...

Scabies is a highly contagious skin condition caused by the microscopic Sarcoptes scabiei mite. These mites burrow into the upper layer of the skin, where they lay eggs and trigger an allergic reaction, leading to intense itching and irritation. Scabies infestations can affect people of all ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses, making it a global health concern. Although the condition is treatable, its contagious nature requires prompt diagnosis and management to prevent widespread transmission. Understanding scabies, how it spreads, and its impact on individuals and communities is crucial in controlling outbreaks and ensuring effective treatment.
Scabies mites are tiny parasites that are not visible to the naked eye. They have a life cycle consisting of several stages, including egg, larva, nymph, and adult. Once the female mite burrows into the skin, she lays eggs that hatch within a few days. The larvae then mature into adults and continue the infestation. The entire life cycle takes about two to three weeks, during which the mites multiply and spread to new areas of the skin. This continuous cycle of burrowing, laying eggs, and maturing contributes to the persistence of the infestation and the worsening of symptoms.
The primary mode of transmission for scabies is direct, prolonged skin-to-skin contact with an infected individual. This makes scabies particularly common in households, nursing homes, schools, and other crowded living environments where close physical interactions occur frequently. The mites can also spread through shared bedding, clothing, and furniture, although indirect transmission is less common. Because scabies mites can survive for a short time outside the human body, it is possible for reinfestation to occur if proper decontamination measures are not taken.

From the author of Tokyo Vice comes the wild, true story of cyber-era commerce, crime, cold-hard cash, and one of the greatest heists in history.

Even in hell, Bitcoin talks. This modern take on an old Japanese saying still holds true. Cryptocurrency was supposed to do for money what the internet did for information, but it didn't work out that way. Its virtual existence unleashed real-world chaos―especially in the homeland of its mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Tokyo was the center of the world's largest Bitcoin exchange, Mt. Gox, until that company collapsed with nearly half a billion dollars' worth of Bitcoin gone missing. It might be the greatest heist in history. If it was a heist.

So what really happened? The Devil Takes Bitcoin tells the true story of the humble-to-hot commodity, from the former geek website that launched the boom to an inside world of absent-minded CEOs, hucksters, hackers, cybercrooks, drug dealers, corrupt federal agents, evangelical libertarians, and clueless techies. You'll discover Bitcoin's connection to the infamous Silk Road, learn why hell has nothing on Japan's criminal justice system, and get the lowdown on the high cost of betting with the Devil's dollars. All of this for less than the price of a single Bitcoin.
