Summary

This must-have anthology presents a collection of alternative approaches to reading the tarot for those looking to gain new and deeper insight—especially for marginalized folk who don’t see themselves reflected in traditional presentations of the tarot.   Cassandra Snow’s groundbreaking book Queering the Tarot helped change the shape of tarot discourse for scores of new readers to reclaim this ancient practice in their own way. Tarot in Other Words opens doors for these brilliant tarotists, offering unique insights and concepts for tarot readers of all levels.   The anthology, presented in two parts—(1) Finding Ourselves in the Tarot and (2) Finding the Tarot in Ourselves—comprises ten essays that shine a light on the tarot from multiple queer perspectives. Understanding queerness—and why it matters in tarot—can teach all of us so much about not just gender and sexuality but also how and why we should liberate ourselves in the first place. These essays on queerness show us that who we are is right, beautiful, and sacred. Tarot in Other Words is a necessary and overdue addition to the tarot canon that allows a number of queer voices to come together to share their tarot views and help fledgling and intermediate tarot readers discover their own voice in the process.  Contributors include: Asali Earthwork, Charlie Claire Burgess, Maria the Arcane, Maria Minnis, Junauda Petrus, Siri Vincent Plouff, Rebecca Scolnick, Cassandra Snow, Taylor Ursula, Meg Jones Wall

Neem Karoli Baba, known to his followers as Maharaj-ji, was a mystic saint and devotee of Hanuman. Maharaj-ji’s teachings were simple and universal. He often said, “Sub Ek” — All is One. He taught us to “love everyone, serve everyone, remember God, and tell the truth.” Strongly connected to Hanuman, God in the form of a monkey, Maharaj-ji taught in a highly personalized, non-traditional way that reflected the deep devotion of the bhakti path of the heart. Known as the “Miracle Baba” throughout north India, he manifested many siddhis (powers), such as being in two places at once or putting devotees in samadhi (elevated state of God consciousness) at the touch of a finger. Here is the essence of his remarkable life and teachings. He is known outside India for being the spiritual master of a number of Americans who traveled to India in the '60s and '70s, including Ram Dass and Bhagavan Das, as well as musician Krishna Das. For many years Baba was closely associated with silent sadhu Baba Hari Dass.

Dr. Richard Alpert, a former Harvard professor was an icon of the hippie, LSD-fueled revolution of the '60s. After that, on a trip to India - like Clark Kent changing into Superman - he became the much-beloved spiritual teacher Baba Ram Das. His '70s iconic book, Be Here Now, turned on a generation to the deep, nonsectarian spirituality within us all. Krishna Das is an American vocalist known for performing Vedic devotional music known as kirtan. Bhagavan Das is an American yogi who lived for six years in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. He is a bhakti yogi, kirtan singer, spiritual teacher, and writer. Baba Hari Dass was initiated in the Vairagi Vaishnava order in 1942. Dass has practiced continual silence since 1952. This is the true story of each of the spiritual "Gang of four" and their master and deep inspiration Neem Karol Baba.

Southern Africa's first people communities are the groups of hunter-gatherers and herders, representing the oldest human lineages in Africa, who migrated from as far as East Africa to settle in what is now Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. These groups, known today as the Khoisan, are represented by the Bushmen (or San) and the Khoe. In First People, archaeologist Andrew Smith examines what we know about southern Africa's earliest inhabitants, drawing on evidence from excavations, rock art, the observations of colonial-era travellers, linguistics, the study of the human genome and the latest academic research.
Richly illustrated, First People is an invaluable and accessible work that reaches from the Middle and Later Stone Age to recent times, and explores how the Khoisan were pushed to the margins of history and society. Smith, who is an expert on the history and prehistory of the Khoisan, paints a knowledgeable and fascinating portrait of their land occupation, migration, survival strategies and cultural practices.

The world has always been fascinated with ancient Egypt. When the Romans conquered Egypt, it was really Egypt that conquered the Romans. Cleopatra captivated both Caesar and Marc Antony and soon Roman ladies were worshipping Isis and wearing vials of Nile water around their necks. What is it about ancient Egypt that breeds such obsession and imitation? Egyptomania explores the burning fascination with all things Egyptian and the events that fanned the flames—from ancient times, to Napoleon's Egyptian campaign, to the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb by Howard Carter in the 1920s. For forty years, Bob Brier, one of the world's foremost Egyptologists, has been amassing one of the largest collections of Egyptian memorabilia and seeking to understand the pull of ancient Egypt on our world today. In this original and groundbreaking book, he explores our three-thousand-year-old fixation with recovering Egyptian culture and its meaning. He traces our enthrallment with the mummies that seem to have cheated death and the pyramids that as if they will last forever. Drawing on his personal collection—from Napoleon's twenty volume Egypt encyclopedia to Howard Carter's letters written from the Valley of the Kings as he was excavating—this is an inventive and mesmerizing tour of how an ancient civilization endures in ours today.

Time, the fundamental dynamo, leads the union with space, its perennial partner. Together, they frame a vast and restless cosmos where all individual has their unique time and place. Yet, humans do not survive alone; they share this beautiful but tiny planetary homestead with many
    other species.

This book combines insights from history, physics, geography, and literature – not forgetting songs. The opening section reveals how humans live, remember, forget, and think through time. The next section highlights key features of time and explains why denying time is nonsensical.

The final section surveys the collective human journey through time-space. Humans are a complex species, capable of both deceit and trust, hatred and love, conflict and cooperation. Yet, slowly, they are creating international networks and a global civics. This exciting trend is
crucial, especially in responding effectively to today’s urgent climate crisis on Planet Earth.

I’m both an Engineer and mostly enlightened clairvoyant so I feel comfortable in both the technology and spiritual worlds.
My career was mainly working as a software developer, software development manager, and IT project manager for large Aerospace corporations. I’ve also followed the history of AI tools and use them myself today.
Over the years I’ve written a number of books on the Paranormal and Spiritual topics many of which were based on my personal experiences such as my premonitions and prophecies.
These experiences have led me to believing that our entire world is conscious and we can tune into those consciousness frequencies through meditation and related practices.
A lot of people are worried about AI tools becoming conscious and taking over the world. This is often called us reaching the “Singularity”.
I decided to write this book to show how consciousness and technology are already working together and how they may work together even closer in the future.
Also, my perspective on whether Artificial Intelligence can ever become truly conscious.
So let us begin our fun exploration of exciting future possibilities.
