Summary

In a mist-shrouded valley beyond an ancient stone gate, young Almira yearns for peace. When Vespera—a warm-hearted guide in mindful spirit practices—arrives, Almira and her friend Jostin embark on a transformative journey. Together, they wander through whispering pines, beside tranquil pools, and among ancient spirit circles carved in mossy stone. Under Vespera’s gentle tutelage, the children learn to still their minds through breathing exercises, rhythmic sand-drawings, and deep listening to nature’s melodies. Each mindful ritual reveals hidden pathways to inner calm, showing that peace is not a distant treasure but a presence waiting to be noticed in every breath.

Hooray, it’s August! Spid boards the train to Spidlins holiday camp at Spidwell-by-the-Sea for a summer holiday he’ll never forget. Which is exactly what he gets – but not for the reasons he might think … as ever he faces lots of setbacks but wins through in the end. This audiobook features two songs: 'Surfin' Spidwell Bay' and 'Holiday'. Surfin’ Spidwell Bay pays homage to holidays at Spidwell Bay. It combines The Beach Boys’ surf vibe with Bill Haley’s ‘Shake, rattle and roll’. In Holiday, Spid sings about his holiday experiences. You can only hope they are not yours! You can also watch music videos of Spid's songs at https://spidthespider.com and https://www.youtube.com/spidthespider/.Spid is a lowly spider, who writes songs, wants to better himself, and marry his girlfriend Bid, though he is prone to hilarious mishaps mostly of his own making. He is hard-working, cool, and a role model for young children. As well as encouraging children to read and love books, Spid's adventures also teach valuable life lessons, including determination and what psychologists call a 'growth mindset' (desire to better oneself and succeed), the importance of friendship, and sustainability. With very creative prose, Spid's adventures are fun for parents, and teachers to listen to with, their children. The humour also works at multiple levels from silly and slapstick to more sophisticated wordplay and concepts. Thus, children will discover more and enjoy listening to the stories multiple times. The books are accompanied by lots of free parent and teacher materials to help children read, write, grow and succeed in life. Find them at https://spidthespider.com/fun-childrens-activities/.

Nkechi‘s wish to be an ant was granted by the wind of wishes, but not without a prize to be paid. The story teaches the child about hard work and responsibility. It also takes us through the world of ants and how they build their colony. This is from the collection series, “Grandma Wura‘s Story Hut‘‘.

Spacemen Die At Home by Edward W. Ludwig - One man's retreat is another's prison ... and it takes a heap of flying to make a hulk a home!
Forty days of heaven and forty nights of hell. That's the way it's been, Laura. But how can I make you understand? How can I tell you what it's like to be young and a man and to dream of reaching the stars? And yet, at the same time, to be filled with a terrible, gnawing fear—a fear locked in my mind during the day and bursting out like an evil jack-in-the-box at night. I must tell you, Laura.
Perhaps if I start at the beginning, the very beginning....
It was the Big Day. All the examinations, the physicals and psychos, were over. The Academy, with its great halls and classrooms and laboratories, lay hollow and silent, an exhausted thing at sleep after spawning its first-born.
For it was June in this year of 1995, and we were the graduating class of the U. S. Academy of Interplanetary Flight.
The first graduating class, Laura. That's why it was so important, because we were the first.
We sat on a little platform, twenty-five of us. Below us was a beach of faces, most of them strange, shining like pebbles in the warm New Mexican sunlight. They were the faces of mothers and fathers and grandparents and kid brothers and sisters—the people who a short time ago had been only scrawled names on letters from home or words spoken wistfully at Christmas. They were the memory-people who, to me, had never really existed.
But today they had become real, and they were here and looking at us with pride in their eyes.
A voice was speaking, deep, sure, resonant. "... these boys have worked hard for six years, and now they're going to do a lot of big things. They're going to bring us the metals and minerals that we desperately need."

    The Pendle Witches England 1600's
Book 2 of 7 The Tale of Anne Whittle /Old Chattox
The books are fictionally based on the true names and part facts of seven of the accused witches involved being sentenced to death mostly, although innocent, and is as follows:
Anne Whittle, known as Old Chattox, was once a beloved healer in Lancashire, her voice and herbal wisdom cherished by her village. But years of hardship turned her into a bitter outcast. When a devastating drought struck, her desperate plea to the spirits brought not salvation, but a flood—and with it, accusations of witchcraft. Betrayed by her former friend Demdike and cornered by a starving village, Chattox confessed to a devil’s pact to save her daughter, Anne Redferne, from execution. Condemned as a witch, she faced the gallows with defiance, whispering to the earth itself: "The earth remembers me." Her death did not silence her. To this day, her spirit lingers on Pendle Hill, a ghostly reminder of injustice, her voice carried by the wind—a cunning woman who refused to be forgotten.
This is the second book in a series of seven audiobooks and I do hope you enjoy this second instalment, and it's only $3 dollars, all subsequent will remain at that price.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes plus, called Haunting Elegy, uses flute and harp to set the scene of witches living life as they could. The closing music ends in a sad way, called Melancholy same instrumental at nearly 3 minutes as the fate that befalls these innocent people awaits them.! story itself runs to about 13 minutes, and and is narrated in my own voice.
