Sinopse

Ever wondered what waffle like 'accountability', 'site of contestation' or 'The National Democratic Revolution' really means? Here, in an irreverent nutshell, is your answer. The Ranter's Guide to South Africa pinpoints and defines some of the most overused and abused words, acronyms, piffle and jargon that noisily bamboozle our daily life. It is a satirical dictionary for our times, encompassing politics, business, culture, sport, history and that relentless, buzzing swarm of clichés that assault us every day. At last, comic relief is at hand in this indispensible A-Z digest with its short and sharp definitions that will puncture the bombast, bias and rampant populism circulating on all sides. Keep this subversive manual close by, it could save your sanity ...

Leo Larsson is a change-averse software developer with a forgettable presence and a life as bland and dry as Swedish crisp bread.
Leo has three goals: keep a low profile, avoid customer support at all costs, and deal with an obsessed dentist with a curious and possibly abnormal fascination with Leo's teeth.
Unfortunately, David, the spandex wearing know-it-all, mandates that everybody in the company, except architects, must provide customer support services.
The unambitious Leo decides that if climbing the corporate ladder means avoiding daily human interaction, it's time to scale. If only Leo wasn't such a lazy developer with a plow-shaped smile.
Turns out, being lazy is hard work.

Then there's Leigh, whose affair with Sellevision boss Howard Toast is going nowhere, until she exposes him on air; and Bebe, Sellevision's star host, who finds Mr. Right through the Internet—if she can just stop her shopping addiction from taking over.A Macmillan Audio production.

Rameau's Nephew, or the Second Satire (French: Le Neveu de Rameau ou La Satire seconde) is an imaginary philosophical conversation written by Denis Diderot, probably between 1761 and 1772. It was first published in 1805 in German translation by Goethe, but the French manuscript used has subsequently disappeared. The German version was translated back into French by de Saur and Saint-Geniès and published in 1821. The first published version based on French manuscript appeared in 1823 in the Brière edition of Diderot's works. Modern editions are based on the complete manuscript in Diderot’s own hand found by Georges Monval, the librarian at the Comédie-Française, in 1890 while buying music scores from a second-hand bookshop in Paris.[1] Monval published his edition of the manuscript in 1891. Subsequently, the manuscript was bought by the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York. It is unclear why Diderot never had it published in his time. Given the satirical tone of the work, it has been suggested that the author prudently refrained from giving offence. (Summary by wikipedia)

The world is a mess and bestselling author and comedian Tara Flynn is raging. Well, sometimes. Mostly she's shocked, bemused, irreverent and wondering where the kindness went. Depends on the week, really. 'Rage-In' is a collection of essays providing a personal look at our modern world. Written in Tara's distinctive voice – conversational, witty and easy to read – we are guided through many of today's major issues, be it Emperor Trump, Brexit, an imaginary bunker for the impending apocalypse, trolls, being a Feminazi, or how pastels are actually THE WORST. With humour and empathy – as well as the occasional bout of rage – Tara Flynn tackles modern life and wonders whether anger is really the best way to survive it.

Walter Matthews kills himself and arrives in Heaven's Waiting Room, where he witnesses a misdeed that quickly culminates in the abduction of the Almighty. Getting God back is a responsibility charged to Creation's Vice President, Jesus H. Christ, who isn't quite sure he's up to the job. So begins an inter-Dimensional adventure with a cast of trillions, in which Jesus and Walter have to restore the Good Lord to His throne before All Existence is destroyed.

Mad, cheeky, satirical, and yet thoroughly human and warm. A great, mind-bending, screwed-up, curly-worded story. A ripping, runaway ride through the realms of the afterlife.
