Sinopse

The issue of Medical Liability in Europe has been intensively discussed since a long time, and it needs revision to come to a harmonisation. In June 2008, the Council of Europe’s Public and Private Law Unit (DG-HL Directorate General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs), in co-operation with the Health and Bioethics Divisions (DGIII - Social Cohesion), has organised a 2-day interdisciplinary Conference on “The ever-growing challenge of medical liability: national and European responses”. As stated, the aim of the Conference was to gather information, share experiences and examine ways of improving standards of dealing with medical liability in the member states. It is very important to show good practices in the field which simultaneously secure the individual’s access to the judiciary while ensuring just compensation for any medical malpractice were examined.

Here is an extremely rare recording from the BetterListen! archives.
Available in digitlal format for the very first time.
Recorded in NYC in 1991, this recording reflects the wisdom, foresight and brilliance of Dr Timothy Leary.
Timothy Leary believed that a psychedelic experience is a journey to new realms of consciousness. The scope and content of the experience is limitless, but its characteristic features are the transcendence of verbal concepts, of spacetime dimensions, and of the ego or identity. Such experiences of enlarged consciousness can occur in a variety of ways: sensory deprivation, yoga exercises, disciplined meditation, religious or aesthetic ecstasies, or spontaneously.
We hope you enjoy this recording and peak into one of the most interesting minds in recent history.

"The Wonder," by Emma Donoghue, tells the story of Lib Wright, an English nurse, who is called to a remote Irish village in 1859 to observe a young girl, Anna O’Donnell, who claims to have not eaten for months. Lib's mission is to determine if Anna is a miracle or a fraud. As Lib observes Anna, she is faced with the conflict between scientific rationality and deep-seated religious faith that the girl and her community embrace. Lib battles her own skepticism as the lines between reality and belief become blurred and the girl’s health continues to decline. ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card tells the story of Ender Wiggin, a gifted child who is recruited to a special military school in space. The book explores his training as a military leader as he faces increasingly difficult simulations. The main conflict arises from the threat of an impending war with an alien race known as the buggers, and Ender's unique skills are seen as humanity’s best hope for survival. The narrative examines themes of manipulation, isolation, and the ethical implications of war, and how these concepts are perceived by children who are being trained to be soldiers.
