Does religious experience come from God, or is it just the random firing of neurons in the brain? Drawing on brain research on Carmelite nuns that has attracted major media attention and provocative new research in near-death experiences, The Spiritual Brain proves that genuine, life-changing spiritual events can be documented. The authors make a convincing case for what many in science are loathe to consider-that it is God who creates our spiritual experiences, not the brain. Challenging the conclusions of such books as Richard Dawkins's The God Delusion and Daniel C. Dennett's Breaking the Spell, this book will be of interest to readers on both sides of a hot-button issue at the meeting place of science and faith.

Many people want more money. It’s a given. It’s simple. But what they don’t understand, is that some qualities need to be developed in order to receive more from the universe.
One of those is stress management. We live in a hectic world with ever-pressing expectations and an increasing number of confusing directions to go into. What you need to do, is to manage your time, your cortisol levels, and your emotional intelligence in a way that you can stay calm while doing “your thing.”
Another is self-control. Most people have times when they lack that self-control. The human body and the brain aren’t easy to master. They have tendencies that lean towards giving into temptation. But those temptations often stand in the way of our long-term goals by switching out lasting happiness and fulfilment for instant gratification. This needs to change, and in this book, at least one full chapter is strictly devoted to that topic.
All in all, you will become more motivated and educated through this book.

Do you suffer or know someone who suffers from epilepsy? Epilepsy is a disease of worldwide distribution and is more common than we think. It affects people of all ages, genders or social status. Approximately 50 million people in the world live with seizures characterized by convulsive events, making epilepsy one of the most common neurological diseases globally.
But t here is a more complex situation; 25 to 30 % of epileptics, i.e. about 20 million people worldwide, are drug refractory. This means that a patient's epileptic seizures are very frequent or the anticonvulsant treatment does not control the seizures. That is why, in the absence of satisfactory clinical results in the treatment of epilepsy, patients, parents and health professionals have joined forces over the years to seek more effective therapies with mechanisms of action with clearer answers than conventional mechanisms of action.
Currently, most of the studies on the influence of cannabis in the improvement of epilepsy symptoms consider the use of cannabinoids as an adjuvant and synergistic treatment with the basic treatment. This allows, in most cases, to gradually suppress a drug or reduce its dose, with the consequent benefit. However, clinically, the use of cannabis has never been considered as the only drug, nor as the first therapeutic option.
Despite this, 90% of the patients who received CBD showed some degree of reduction in seizure frequency. Approximately 60% improved other aspects such as behavior, alertness, language, motor skills, communication, and sleep. Adverse events were reported by 46% of patients, and only 14% had to discontinue treatment. Given these figures, many patients and parents who use cannabis as a treatment for epilepsy recognize that medicine should be focused on conducting more research leading to the borderless legal use of cannabis oil for the treatment of epilepsy symptoms.

In this book, we'll discuss the essential planning and preparation required to win negotiations. We'll discuss both how to prepare to negotiate aggressively as well as how to prepare to defend yourself against aggressive negotiation tactics employed by the other party.
While some negotiation tactics use strength, the most effective tactics use intelligence, strategy, and finesse. Here's why: The most crucial skill for you to have - as a negotiator - is the ability to make the other party feel they've won the negotiation and obtained a great outcome - even if, when dividing up the pie, you've secured most of the pie for yourself. You want the other party to be willing to do business with you again in the future, and also to give you great reviews, references, and referrals.
To accomplish the objectives above, you'll learn negotiation tactics that combine timeless relationship building skills, scientifically proven principles of influence and persuasion, and the best strategies from The Art of War by Sun Tzu - the classic 2,000-year-old Chinese military strategy book. You'll ensure the other party feels they've been treated fairly and obtained a great outcome, even if, when dividing up the pie, you've secured most of the pie for yourself.
The truth is, all that's necessary to get the results you want is for you to do a few basic fundamentals really well. Doing the basic fundamentals really well is always the fastest, easiest, and most effective way to get excellent results. Don't waste time on trendy advice that quickly fizzles out. Instead, learn timeless fundamentals that will always be relevant.
You'll be able to start applying what you've learned immediately after you've finished reading this book by using the example procedures, responses, strategies, behaviors, and action steps. It works; and it will work for you. Read this book, apply the information, and see for yourself.
