  Legendary outlaw Belle Starr has been written about and portrayed in various media for well over one hundred years. Born Myra Maybelle Shirley in Missouri in 1848, Belle lived most of her life in Texas. She became notorious after living and hanging out with members of the James and Younger gangs. 
  Belle was a crack shot who rode side saddle while engaging in horse thievery, cattle rustling, and holdups. In between these activities, Belle bore two children and was involved with (though not necessarily married to) several men, including Sam Starr. 
  Belle was murdered in 1889 just 2 days before her 41st birthday. The case is officially considered unsolved. This book was the first of many about Belle and was originally published the same year she died.

  The history of Chile spans thousands of years, with evidence suggesting that the region was inhabited as early as 10,000 years ago. Migrating Native Americans are believed to have settled in the fertile valleys and coastal areas, forming over a dozen distinct Amerindian cultures. These early inhabitants may have arrived via the Pacific coast in a rapid expansion predating the Clovis civilization or through trans-Pacific migration. Archaeological sites such as Monte Verde, Cueva del Milodón, and the Pali Aike Crater provide critical evidence of this early human activity. Monte Verde, in particular, predates the Clovis site by thousands of years, challenging traditional theories of the first human migrations to the Americas. 
  By the time of Spanish exploration in the 16th century, various indigenous groups occupied the land. The Mapuche, who inhabited south-central Chile, were the most significant and resilient, maintaining their independence through centuries of conflict with Spanish colonizers and later the Chilean state. Their resistance was emblematic of the challenges faced by Spanish conquistadors who arrived in 1540 under the leadership of Pedro de Valdivia. Despite fierce resistance, Valdivia founded Santiago in 1541, marking the beginning of Chile's colonial era. 
  Chile was part of the Spanish Empire from 1540 to 1818. During this period, the colony developed an economy centered on agriculture and the extraction of natural resources like saltpeter and, later, copper. While these resources bolstered the economy, they also led to over-reliance on commodity exports and tensions with neighboring countries. The War of the Pacific (1879–1884) exemplified such conflicts, as Chile battled Bolivia and Peru over control of the nitrate-rich Atacama Desert.

  They work as part of a team with social workers, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to meet the needs of the children. Foster carers can choose the type of fostering that suits them best, such as short-term, long-term, emergency, respite, or specialist fostering. They can also specify the age range and number of children they can care for.  
  Fostering is not a permanent arrangement, and the goal is usually to reunite the children with their birth families or find them an alternative permanent home. However, some foster carers may adopt the children they foster if that is in their best interest. Fostering can make a positive difference in the lives of children and foster carers alike. 
  Fostering children can have many benefits, such as making a positive difference in their lives, learning new skills and expanding your family. However, fostering children can also have many challenges, such as dealing with emotional and behavioural issues, coping with loss and attachment, and balancing your own needs and responsibilities.
