Bea's key to cake success is a handful of failsafe recipes that she can always rely on. The Cake chapter is devoted to staple recipes which can be embellished or layered to create the dazzling ideas in the Special Cakes chapter. And when only a Cheesecake will do, you'll find plenty of choice here - from the simple to the sublime.Bea Vo is a chef and the owner of Bea's of Bloomsbury. Born in the Washington D.C. area, she first discovered her love of pastry at the age of seven when she managed to get flour on the ceiling. She trained at Le Cordon Bleu and opened Bea's of Bloomsbury in 2008, with branches in London's literary Bloomsbury, the City of London and Chelsea.

Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, Mother Teresa humbly accepted it on behalf of the poorest of the poor to whom she joyfully dedicated her life. Truly a saint for the 20th century, she taught compassion not only for the sick and destitute, but also for the lonely, neglected, and unappreciated who surround us every day. Among Mother Teresa’s concerns were those that plague modern Christians everywhere: abortion, child abuse and neglect, the lack of love in modern family life, and AIDS, which she called “the leprosy of the West.” She gave strength and inspiration to her Missionaries of Charity, and through them her joyful commitment to Christ continues on. The dual narration by Ruth Ann Phimister and George Guidall, as fervent as a prayer, inspires listeners with Mother Teresa’s simple yet profound message about the value and meaning of life. This diminutive, self-effacing nun’s call to love is a bright beacon of hope in an increasingly self-centered world.

Lauren Weedman's hilarious essays are like a compendium of what not to do as a fully-realized, functional adult. Her self-deprecating, confessional, and terribly funny voice finds a special place in the hearts of those who can relate to her—which, for better or worse, includes all of us. From the uproarious account of her time at the Daily Show, where she developed an entirely one-sided infatuation with Jon Stewart, to the time she read her boyfriend's diary with disastrous results, Lauren's work is filled with the wit, honesty, and personality that make for great personal writing.
