Summary

In a world where artificial intelligence can generate images and videos in seconds, creativity is no longer limited by tools—but by understanding. This book is a practical, human-centered guide for anyone who wants to turn AI-generated visuals into real, usable assets that people are willing to pay for. It is written for beginners, side-hustlers, educators, creators, and small business owners who may not see themselves as designers, yet feel the pull to create something meaningful—and sustainable.Rather than chasing trends or promising overnight success, the book focuses on clarity: how to use accessible AI tools responsibly, how to write prompts that produce purposeful results, and how to transform raw AI output into polished products through human judgment, curation, and care.Readers are guided step by step through real use cases—custom pet portraits, social media visual packs, print-on-demand products, stock imagery, digital assets, educational graphics, and scalable creative systems. Each chapter emphasizes practicality, ethical creation, and long-term value, showing how small, thoughtful projects can grow into dependable income streams. This is not a technical manual or a list of shortcuts. It is a grounded roadmap for building creative confidence, understanding ownership and commercial rights, and learning how to collaborate with AI without losing the human touch that makes work valuable. At its core, this book is about more than AI. It is about learning how to think clearly, create intentionally, and build something useful—one image, one asset, and one decision at a time.

This stunning cultural and personal reclamation of Black history and Black botanical mastery offers up lessons from the natural world shared through the stories of long-lived trees. The histories of trees in America are also the histories of Black Americans. Pecan trees were domesticated by an enslaved African named Antoine; sycamore trees were both havens and signposts for people trying to escape enslavement; poplar trees are historically associated with lynching; and willow bark has offered the gift of medicine. These trees, and others, testify not only to the complexity of the Black American narrative but also to a heritage of Black botanical expertise that, like Native American traditions, predates the United States entirely. In When Trees Testify, award-winning plant biologist Beronda L. Montgomery explores the ways seven trees—as well as the cotton shrub—are intertwined with Black history and culture. She reveals how knowledge surrounding these trees has shaped America since the very beginning. As Montgomery shows, trees are material witnesses to the lives of enslaved Africans and their descendants. Combining the wisdom of science and history with stories from her own path to botany, Montgomery talks to majestic trees, and in this unique and compelling narrative, they answer.

    Zero Trust Networks - Building...

Perimeter defenses guarding your network aren't as secure as you might think. Hosts behind the firewall have no defenses of their own, so when a host in the "trusted" zone is breached, access to your data center is not far behind. This practical book introduces you to the zero trust model, a method that treats all hosts as if they're internet-facing, and considers the entire network to be compromised and hostile.

In this updated edition, the authors show you how zero trust lets you focus on building strong authentication, authorization, and encryption throughout, while providing compartmentalized access and better operational agility. You'll learn the architecture of a zero trust network, including how to build one using currently available technology.

You'll also explore fundamental concepts of a zero trust network, including trust engine, policy engine, and context aware agents; discover how this model embeds security within the system's operation, rather than layering it on top; use existing technology to establish trust among the actors in a network; migrate from a perimeter-based network to a zero trust network in production; examine case studies that provide insights into various organizations' zero trust journeys; and learn about the various zero trust architectures, standards, and frameworks.

Lainie Chait was diagnosed with epilepsy in 1991 at the age of 19. At the time of diagnosis, there were three roads to go down - avoidance, acceptance or rebellion. Avoidance was her first choice. Falling in the shower, brain jerks and muscle twitches when she was 14 was the beginning of something 'not quite right' about her early teenage years. She hid these symptoms from family and friends for three years in the hope that they were just ‘growing pains’.As she started reaching the age of independence (18 in Australia) and started to drink, stay up late and go out partying, these ‘growing pains’ turned into a seizure condition that could no longer be ignored. Eventually doctors, diagnoses and medicines were brought into the equation. She tried acceptance but at the time it wasn’t the right fit, as the very thought of taming down her young, fun life and replace it with medicine, early nights and mature personal decisions was just too hard to fathom. Rebellion then became her main focus and she achieved this by partying, staying up late and ignoring the triggers. This mindset carried with it an enormous amount of embarrassment and shame. She constantly felt like a failure after each of the 250+ Grand Mal seizures she endured over 25 years. But she wasn’t just rebelling against a diagnosis; she was rebelling against a system that has the capacity to make you feel better but at a price that also keeps you in a place of perpetual illness. She needed to know why she had epilepsy and the only way she was going to find this out was to take herself off all the meds and research it, live it, feel it, document and manage it for herself. She did this much to the horror of her doctors, friends and family. She went on a journey to get to know her brain and what makes it tick and glitch. The journey was about finding out just how much control she did and didn’t have over her seizures.Electro Girl is Lainie Chait's story of resilience, growth and self advocacy.
