Summary

When the Marquis of Sherwood declines her invitation to a Society occasion with the scathing comment that he has no wish to spend his time with d?butantes, whom he believes are ?half-witted, gauche, stupid and not well-educated?, Lady Katherine Wick is incensed. Even more so when she discovers that he apparently prefers the company of the Gaiety Girls, the femmes fatales of the theatrical set. So she resolves to teach him a lesson by enlisting dear friend Lavina Vernon and her most beautiful, talented and witty friends to pose as Gaiety Girls at an unchaperoned party at the Marquis? country mansion ? there to prove that Society girls are intelligent as well as glamorous. Kind, demure country parson?s daughter Lavina is uncomfortable with this deceit ? all the more so as she comes to realise that her heart belongs utterly to the Marquis. The question, once the pretence has been exposed, is whether he will treasure it... Or break it.

Savage Rogue kicks off a thrilling new series starring Special Agent Nicole Beretti, a fan favorite from the popular Night of the Dogman series. Called to the remote town of Enrick, Wyoming, Beretti and her partner, Special Agent Noah Jacobi, are drawn into a dark mystery after Chief Deputy Perry requests federal help to handle a series of brutal, animal-like killings. Although the local coroner suspects a large wolf, Beretti knows there's more lurking in the woods, more than anyone in Enrick is prepared for.
Amid the terror, an indifferent and lazy Sheriff Becan has allowed fear to fester, driving restless locals to form a dangerous, self-appointed posse, ready to act without a clear plan or understanding of the threat they face. Now, Beretti and Jacobi must tread carefully as they investigate, navigating the tension between the reckless vigilantes and the ominous, unknown predator hiding in the darkness.
With dark secrets, small-town intrigue, and a chilling, relentless danger stalking them, Beretti faces one of her most harrowing cases yet in Savage Rogue, an electrifying start to a series listeners won't be able to put down.
