Imagination: A Very Short Introduction explores imagination as a cognitive power and an essential dimension of human flourishing, demonstrating how imagination plays multiple roles in human cognition and shapes humanity in profound ways. Examining philosophical, evolutionary, and literary perspectives on imagination, the author shows how this facility, while potentially distorting, both frees us from immediate reality and enriches our sense of it, making possible our experience of a meaningful world. Long regarded by philosophers as an elusive and mysterious capacity of the human mind, imagination has been the subject of extraordinary ambivalence, described as both dangerous and divine, as merely peripheral to rationality and as essential to all thinking. Drawing on philosophy, aesthetics, literary and cognitive theory, as well as the human sciences, this book engages the dramatic conceptual history of imagination together with contemporary explanations of its role in cognition to explain its importance in everyday life as well as the exquisite creativity of the arts, scientific discovery, and invention. Engaging examples from cave paintings to modern painting, performance art to pop art, physics to phenomenology, technological inventions to literary worlds, the Nazca geoglyphs to dramatic theater, poetry, and jazz improvisation, the author illuminates with clarity and vision the philosophy of imagination and the stakes of its involvement in human thinking.

"Coming to the Kṛṣṇa Bhakti-Yoga tradition, especially the Gaudiya Vaisnavas from India I found shelter and made friends with the Hare Kṛṣṇa lifestyle and movement. Yoga means "Union" or "to link up", this refers to the Absolute Truth which comes in a personal and impersonal form. This wisdom of Yoga is manifested in the Vedas, the Word of God. The Vedas discuss Polymorphic Bi-Monotheism, a unique Supreme God who is apparent in Radha-Kṛṣṇa, the divine couple, manifesting in many forms. Studying this tradition is fun and practical. It turned my personal life around and became my life and soul. For example, learning Sanskrit, the Mother of all Languages is great joy. Śraddhā is a Sanskrit term and refers to the root of this tree of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. How can one believe in such a wonderful theology?"

Igigi unrest leading to the Zu Incident was just a harbinger of other troubles to come-troubles inherent in long-term interplanetary missions, and female companionship was one of the significant problems.
The problem was less acute with the Earth-stationed Anunnaki since they contained females from the first landing party (some named and assigned tasks in Enki’s autobiography). In addition, a group of nurses led by their daughter of Anu was sent to Earth. She was known as Ninmah (= ‘Mighty Lady’); her role on Earth was that of Sud (= ‘One who gives succor’): she served as the Anunnaki’s Chief Medical Officer and was crucial to any subsequent events.
Its ancient tide echoed its opening words: Inuma ilu awilum (‘When the gods became like men’): however, there was also trouble among the Earth-based Anunnaki, especially those assigned to mining duties. Several unintended consequences resulted from the Anunnaki’s Mutiny in the Atra-Hasis Epic, which tells of an uprising by the Anunnaki who refused to work in the gold mines.
While the gods, like men, bore the toil and work. There was great toil for the gods, and the result was heavy; there was much distress.
The very Akkadian term, Awilu, means ‘employee,’ rather than simply ‘Man,’ as it is usually translated. In the Epic tale, the man takes over the work of the gods. Despite the absence of men on Earth, the gods toiled as though they were men. Enki and Ninmah achieved that feat, but it was not a story with a happy ending, as far as Enlil was concerned.
