White blood cells are crucial for immune defense, protecting the body against pathogens, while platelets are involved in clotting to prevent excessive bleeding.

Disorders such as anemia can result from deficiencies in red blood cells or hemoglobin, leading to fatigue, weakness, and other symptoms. Leukemia, a type of cancer affecting the white blood cells, and lymphoma, which affects the lymphatic system, are also common blood-related cancers that require specialized treatment.
