Sinossi

In "The Chronicles of Newgate (Vol. 1 & 2)," Arthur Griffiths intricately weaves a narrative that delves into the shadowy underbelly of Victorian England, offering a vivid historical tableau set against the backdrop of Newgate Prison. Griffiths employs a rich Gothic style, marked by vivid descriptions and a keen sense of atmosphere, to explore themes of crime, justice, and moral ambiguity. Through a series of compelling characters, both innocent and guilty, the text illuminates the complexities of the penal system, effectively reflecting the societal anxieties and reform movements of the era. Arthur Griffiths, himself a journalist and an officer of the law, possessed a profound understanding of the criminal psyche and the intricacies of justice, which heavily influenced his literary endeavors. His first-hand experiences with the penal system and the burgeoning interest in crime narratives during the late 19th century equipped him with the insights necessary to frame a narrative that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. Griffiths'Äôs unique perspective allows readers to engage deeply with the ethical dilemmas inherent in the criminal justice system. "The Chronicles of Newgate" is highly recommended for readers interested in historical crime narratives and those seeking to understand the intricate interplay of morality and social justice. This work not only serves as a thrilling read but also as a valuable social document that invites reflection on the complexities of crime and punishment in a crucial period of British history.

This audiobook explores Native American mythologies to view the relationships between humans and animals.
Traditional Native Americans view animals as elder brothers who embody the knowledge sets necessary for survival on this Earth. This vantage point facilitates openness within humans to learn from animals. Animals play the roles of tutelary spirits, helpers, and guides, and sometimes shapeshift from Holy Person to animal or back. This emphasizes the fluidity between the worlds of spirit and matter and highlights animals as oriented toward being helpful to humanity in various ways. As expressed through language and ritual, respect details preserve the relationship between the community, the animals, and the natural landscape.
Animals push human beings into interiority. The spirits choose a person and then utilize animals to communicate and transmit spiritual understandings and abilities. It is then up to the individual to bring this vision to usefulness on Earth.

In today’s world we live in a culture of truth suppression. This is true in representative democracies like the United States as well as full totalitarian dictatorships like Communist China.
This book covers many areas of major lies like Global Warming, perverted doctrines taught in schools, Politics, News Suppression, Communist China, limitations in Spirituality, deficit spending, and problems with globalism.
There are many different types of truth suppression and as much as we would like to think that we live in an advanced culture and world, this effort by different entities to suppress truth affects our lives negatively in many ways.
The most direct effect is that we live in fear of the future of our world which is a big lie.
This suppression also keeps us from fully realizing our spiritual natures and that we do have the ability to accomplish amazing things when we live with full honesty in our lives.
I believe that individuals are closest to a state of happiness when they live their lives in truth. (See my book “A New Paradigm of Truth and Happiness” for more information.)
There are actions we can take to correct this situation but they are mass actions which need many persons involved to have a real effect. A list of these actions are given later in this book.

As this book intriguingly explores, for those who would make Rome great again and their victims, ideas of Roman decline and renewal have had a long and violent history.

The decline of Rome has been a constant source of discussion for more than 2200 years. Everyone from American journalists in the twenty-first century AD to Roman politicians at the turn of the third century BC have used it as a tool to illustrate the negative consequences of changes in their world. Roman prophets of decline were, ultimately, proven correct—a fact that makes their modern invocations all the more powerful.

The Eternal Decline and Fall of Rome tells the stories of the people who built their political and literary careers around promises of Roman renewal as well as those of the victims they blamed for causing Rome's decline. The story begins during the Roman Republic just after 200 BC. It proceeds through the empire of Augustus and his successors, traces the Roman loss of much of western Europe in the fifth century AD, and follows Roman history until its fall in 1453. If Rome illustrates the profound danger of the rhetoric of decline, it also demonstrates the rehabilitative potential of a rhetoric that focuses on collaborative restoration, a lesson of great relevance to our world today.

The Yamato period, spanning from roughly the 3rd to the 7th century, marks the emergence of Japan’s first centralized political power. At the heart of this transformation was the Yamato clan, a dominant force that laid the foundation for Japan’s imperial lineage. While early Japan was fragmented into numerous rival clans, the Yamato rulers gradually asserted their dominance, forging alliances, engaging in warfare, and adopting foreign influences to solidify their authority.
One of the key factors behind the Yamato clan’s rise was its strategic control over fertile land in the Kinki region, an area well-suited for agriculture. This economic advantage allowed them to amass resources necessary to support a growing military force. By subjugating neighboring clans or bringing them under their influence through political marriages and alliances, the Yamato rulers expanded their reach across central and western Japan. The development of a hierarchical system of governance helped them maintain order, as powerful regional chieftains were brought into a centralized network of control under the Yamato court.
Military strength played a significant role in the Yamato clan’s dominance. Archaeological evidence from kofun, or large burial mounds, reveals that these early rulers possessed advanced weaponry, including iron swords and armor, likely influenced by interactions with Korea and China. These military advantages enabled them to assert control over rival clans and protect their growing territory from external threats. The construction of these elaborate burial sites also served as a demonstration of power and legitimacy, reinforcing the Yamato rulers’ status as semi-divine figures.
