Summary

Laxdæla saga, or The Saga of the People of Laxárdalr, is one of the ancient Icelanders' sagas and a great example of the medieval European heroic epic. Although it is believed to be written in the 13th century, it tells of the people of Iceland from the late 9th century to the early 11th century. The saga presents the love story that evolves into a classic triangle, as two close friends who grow up together fall in love with one girl. It involves enmity between the former friends, a competition that grew to the size of the war, and indecisiveness able to keep a reader in suspense for about seven centuries now.

At the end of the world, the only refuge is the one you fight for.
Isolated at her family's wildlife refuge in northern Georgia, Raven longs to escape the monotonous days spent shoveling manure, hauling feed, and hosing down enclosures for bears, wolves, and a tiger. Then her father contracts the mysterious, lethal sickness spreading across the country like wildfire.
Desperate to help him, Raven journeys into town to get medicine, only to discover the outside world is swiftly collapsing into chaos. There are no more police, no more laws, and no hospitals. No one is coming to help.
The wildlife refuge she once resented now offers sanctuary: plenty of food, shelter, and the safety of electrified fences. Using the skills her father taught her, Raven knows how to survive.
But the threat is just beginning, for a dangerous gang tracks Raven back to the refuge, and they'll stop at nothing to take what she has.
Raven can run to save her life. Or she can stand her ground, risking everything to defend the animals—and her home.

When a series of events bring Chad Hunter and hot Agency super spy Sirena back together again, the action gets ramped up immediately. Chad has been hired by the Defense Department to develop a new weapon system based on the Hypershot rail gun system, with a scheduled test looming from a remote site on a volcano in Ecuador. While attending a United Nations World Conference on International Telecommunications in Brazil, Chad runs into Sirena. After a terrorist group bombs the hotel, killing a number of diplomats, and almost killing Chad and Sirena, the two of them join forces to discover who was behind the bombing. Did the bombing have anything to do with Chad's weapons test? Eventually, Sirena must choose between her allegiance with the Agency and her friendship with Chad, while both run for their lives from the remote Ecuadorian forest to the steamy shores of Columbia, fighting a brutal force of hired killers, government agents and a cabal of bureaucratic numbskulls determined to bring them both down.

I messed up, and now it's time to face the music . . . literally.

I thought I was helping. That I knew best. Even though he was saying he didn't want it, I knew he would be loved by millions if he'd just let the world hear his talent.

So, I did it, anyway. I uploaded a video of my not-so-secret crush, Bram Baker, singing and playing his guitar to my popular and heavily followed BingBang account, and guess what!? I was right. The video reached millions of people, and a star was born.

But now, Bram hates me. I disregarded his wishes, and his life changed without his permission. He never had any desire for the adoration of strangers, and my actions screwed up his perfectly average and peaceful existence.

Just in time for my big move to Evening Shade, where he lives and tends bar at the small town's only tavern.

To make matters worse, the apartment I was supposed to live in has gone up in flames, my second option—staying with my newly engaged best friend—has been taken away, and I'm running out of alternatives . . . until the man I'd been falling for before I betrayed him steps up and shocks us all, offering me his spare bedroom.

This can work, right? Of course, it can. It has to.
