Summary

This survey of how astrology works was not written specifically for astrologers. Its purpose is to formulate a materialist theory of what is empirically demonstrated in astrology; our relationship with the cosmos.

Starting with the most feeble part of the astrological framework, Annemiek Bosch presents an explanation for the manifestation of the zodiac signs through the year. This cycle appears to be correlated with Earth's angular movement towards and away from the supermassive black hole in the center of our Milky Way galaxy.

Drawing on the latest scientific insights of quantum physics and consciousness research, she then discusses the mechanism underpinning the astrological practice and makes it plausible that our unconscious minds are able to obtain information from quantum entanglement. Our coherence seems to cause us to collectively create our reality through a process of controlled prediction and automatic adaptation to the cosmic environment.
The phenomenon of consciousness – instead of arising from individual, isolated brains – could be the result of this connectedness.

Flawless is the first book of its kind dedicated to exploring the main causes of faults in wine. From cork taint, to volatile acidity, to off-putting aromas and flavors, all wine connoisseurs have encountered unappealing qualities in a disappointing bottle. But are all faults truly bad? Are some even desirable?Jamie Goode brings his authoritative voice to the table once again to demystify the science behind what causes a good bottle to go bad. By exposing the root causes of faults in wine, Flawless challenges us to rethink our assumptions about how wine should taste and how we can understand beauty in a glass.

Four influential women we thought we knew well—Jane Jacobs, Rachel Carson, Jane Goodall, and Alice Waters—and how they spearheaded the modern progressive movement
This is the story of four visionaries who profoundly shaped the world we live in today. Together, these women—linked not by friendship or field, but by their choice to break with convention—showed what one person speaking truth to power can do. Jane Jacobs fought for livable cities and strong communities; Rachel Carson warned us about poisoning the environment; Jane Goodall demonstrated the indelible kinship between humans and animals; and Alice Waters urged us to reconsider what and how we eat.
With a keen eye for historical detail, Andrea Barnet traces the arc of each woman's career and explores how their work collectively changed the course of history. While they hailed from different generations, Carson, Jacobs, Goodall, and Waters found their voices in the early sixties. At a time of enormous upheaval, all four stood as bulwarks against 1950s corporate culture and its war on nature. Consummate outsiders, each prevailed against powerful and mostly male adversaries while also anticipating the disaffections of the emerging counterculture.
All told, their efforts ignited a transformative progressive movement while offering people a new way to think about the world and a more positive way of living in it.

Social distancing is a term used for such measures that Health authorities take to discourage or delay the spread of a highly infectious disease. The Health Official has the legislative power to introduce steps to isolate society as these initiatives would have a direct effect on our society. Any effort to implement social distancing initiatives must be orchestrated with local authorities such as communities, police forces, and education centers, as well as with state and federal stakeholders. The statutory health bodies are responsible for collecting information on social distancing to physically separate the public from society.
This knowledge is provided to help people understand what might be expected to do if social distancing strategies are put into action by the Health Advisor. What are the steps to separate people from society? Social distancing measures are taken to limit when and where the spread of communicable diseases can be prevented or decelerated.
