Summary

This early works is a fascinating and comprehensive look at blacksmithing with much of the information still useful and practical today. It was originally published by the Council for Small Industries in Rural Areas to meet the needs of craftsmen, technical schools and apprentices' training centres. The lack of such a book was a handicap to the teaching of the subject and particularly to young men who were receiving instructions from the Council in country workshops. Contents Include: 1. The BlackSmith's Equiptment, 2. The BlackSmith's Tools, 3. The BlackSmith's Fire, 4. The BlackSmith's Work, 5. The BlackSmith's Materials, 6. Cutting off Cold Metal, 7. Rings, 8. Bends to Dimensions. It is also extensively illustrated throughout. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900's and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
Available since: 01/20/2017.

The future of sales is radically transparent. Are you ready for it?
Buyers today have knowledge at their fingertips and most of their information gathering will routinely happen before you even walk through the door or get them on the phone. Armed with information, their guard is up – and they are skeptical.
Today, anyone buying anything relies on reviews and feedback shared by strangers and often trust those anonymously posted experiences more than the claims made by the providers of the products or services themselves. They expect to see the full picture and find out all of the pros and cons before making any purchase. And the larger the purchase, the greater the demand for transparency.
What if the key to selling was to do exactly the opposite of what most sales courses tell you to do?
It may be hard to imagine, but something as counterintuitive as leading with your flaws can result in faster sales cycles, increased win rates, and makes competing with you almost impossible. Leveraging transparency and vulnerability in your presentations and your negotiations leads to faster buyer consensus, larger deals, faster payments, longer commitments and more predictable sales forecasts.
In this groundbreaking book, award winning sales leader Todd Caponi will reveal his hard-earned secrets for engaging potential buyers with unexpected honesty and understanding the buying brain to get the deal you want, while delighting your customer with the experience.

The Backpack: How to Understand and Manage Yourself While Loving Others Along the Way tells the story of Jon, Sofia, and Buddy, whose pathways merge on a life-changing flight. Written by a senior consultant with the Flippen Group (a worldwide leader in self-awareness training), the book brings together an angry passenger, a wise flight attendant, and a down-home cowboy. Their chance meeting leads to the ride of their lives as they fully grasp the importance and meaning of their backpacks.

As this engaging story reveals, self-awareness is like a backpack! If we are to be prepared to succeed on the journey of life, we need to know and accept which backpack is ours, decide what we need to put in it or take out of it, and be fully aware of how our backpacks are affecting all of the other passengers around us. The question is: Are we whacking the other passengers with our backpack as we travel through life...or are we helping them?

The Backpack offers a story that explores the concepts of self-awareness and other-awareness, including the importance of appreciating your personality, living by your core values, mentally preparing for your day, being aware of your impact on others, and packing your backpack wisely.
