The author was born in Swansea in South Wales. He was brought to London at an early age and, though not London-born and bred, is now a Londoner by adoption with a critical eye on the city and its ways. He has worked in many places and in different types of jobs ranging from government to loading bays. He has been using the tube for over fifty years, thirty-six of them as a commuter. This book is the distilled experience of those years.
